Welcome to Maria's House, a lovely one-bedroom apartment located in Varenna, an elegant village on the shore of Italy's Lake of Como. The beauty of the place is clearly evident in its ancient buildings, its romantic views, its impressive nature. A distinctive feature of Varenna is the mildness of the climate, which is proved by the olive trees, the cypress trees and other botanic species typical if the lake and is due to its special exposure: leant to the mountain, the village is facing south and west, so it is sunny and warm till late in the evening.

In the heart of Varenna's old quarter, just little steps from the water and the main square, the apartment looks onto a picturesque cobblestone pedestrian-only archway leading straight to the beach and the lakeside with the beautiful pubs, restaurants, shops and art galleries.


The rooms of this apartment on the first floor of a recently restored sixteen century building affords picturesque views of the lake. The hall, the bedroom, the bathroom with shower and the kitchen-sitting room with fireplace are bright and furnished with good taste, in a modern and functional style
