Modern log home with all the amenities! Open Year Round. Easy access. Just steps to the Conejos River for great fishing!

Fully equiped with dishwasher, microwave, gas grill, washer, dryer, cooking utensils, bedding, spices, condiments, sattelite TV/Radio, DVD player, wireless internet and more!

The upstairs master suite features a balcony, queen bed, & bath with jetted tub. In the loft is a queen sleeper couch.

Downstairs features a conversational kitchen, dining room that seats 6 and a living room with a queen sleeper couch and glass front wood burning stove. The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed. There are lots of games, books, maps, and other information about the area.

Enjoy dining or relaxing on the outdoor deck with table to seat 6.

Play horse shoes on-site. Roast marshmallows in the fire-pit on-site (when fire danger is low).

Area Information

Located in the pristine Conejos River Canyon of Southern Colorado. This beautiful, modern log-home is across the river from the Conejos Ranch where you can enjoy horseback riding or enjoy a night out at a restaurant with Shorty's great cooking. Just 15 miles from Antonito and 30 miles from Chama. Enjoy the Cumbres Toltec Scenic Railroad or tour the San Luis Valley where you will find The Great Sand Dunes National Park and several wild life refuges. Easy access from the cabin to lakes, reservoirs, mountain scenery, hiking, great winter snow, and fabulous photography opportunities!

Chama has a wonderful main street of quaint shops and restaruants and is 30 miles up canyon.
Alamosa has full service shops, and stores like WalMart and is 45 miles from the cabin in the San Luis Valley.
Antonito is the nearest grocery store, video rental, gas station etc at 15 miles down canyon.

Comfortable cabin, convenient location

Highly recommended! The cabin is very comfortable, roomy, clean, modern, and well appointed. Ideal for one or two couples. We fish the Conejos several times a year, and Across the River Retreat is well situated for what we do. There's 40 miles of river upstream and at least 15 miles of good water downstream. The fly shops at Fox Creek and Mogote are less than 10 minutes away, and the grocery store at Antonito is less than 20 minutes away. At the end of a day of fishing we leave our waders and gear in the garage, where there's also plenty of room for coolers. The kitchen, also well appointed with utensils, cookware, and most staples provided, is more than adequate for all our cooking needs, and the grill stored in the garage is terrific. The bedrooms are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are clean and modern. I particularly like the walk-in showers, and the jetted tub in the upstairs bathroom is nice after a day when I've overdone it wading or hiking. The neighbors are visible, but not too close, and everyone we've met in the area has been very pleasant.
