Description of the Corea vacation cottage rental

The Postman's Loft sits above the old general store and post office in a small fishing village on the Maine coast. Historically the home of the postmistress, it retains the charm of its early 20th century beginnings with added modern conveniences. Windows and a new balcony provide views of the working lobster harbor and the sea beyond.

Corea is situated on the Schoodic peninsula, called the quiet side of Maine, yet just a few miles from the mainland part of Acadia National Park or a ferry ride to Bar Harbor. The villages on the peninsula have working lobster fleets, and watching the boats at work is a favorite pasttime. Hiking along the rocky coast, kayaking the ponds or ocean, and visiting the local galleries and shops can fill days. Or take a book and picnic to a secluded spot on the shore. Artists and all others will be mesmerized with the beauty of the area.

The postman's loft is where you want to go to get away from it all. Exquisite setting, lots of room, decorated to sooth the soul. Our family had a wonderful time exploring rocky shores, running our toes through the soft green grass, checking out gardens, cooking up lobsters & doing the sights just minutes away by car. Maine is the place to relax & appreciate how little we really need to have it all!
