Description of the Corolla vacation home rental
Five (5) bedroom vacation house with nature, water and wildlife out the back door. This beach house is on the water with your own private pier, dock, kayaks and breathtaking sunset views on the Sound in the North Carolina Outer Banks. Monteray Shores Community/Clubhouse has wireless internet service, walking and bicycle trails, pool, tennis courts, launching dock, fitness room, activities, basketball courts, beach parking, life-guard at the beach, two free kayaks at the house and more.
Lots of shopping, restaurants, entertainment and the food store is close walking distance just outside the MS Community...within a 1/2 mile walk or less.

So if you love nature out your back door, including 300 feet of marsh filled with wildlife then this is your place. Our modestly appointed sound-front 5 bedroom house has just what you need for a pleasant and interesting beach vacation.
The house has two master bedroom suites and sleeps up to 14 in beds. We also have two sleep sofa mattresses if a guest or two drops by unexpected. Our vacation home also has 3 baths, cable TV, DVD, VCR, dishwasher, stocked kitchen washer/dryer, up to 2 free kayaks, a basketball rim, 2 picnic tables (one outdoors and one on a screened porch for your ease and comfort next to the kitchen.) There is also a bicycle or two for you and your children to use.
The house is a short stroll to the Monteray Shores community center, shopping, a food store, activites (including mini-golf and water sports) and restaurants, and only 5 more minutes beyond the clubhouse to the beach. So everything is really close by and very walkable or bikable!
All you need is your “stuff”, beach gear and towels, linens and sheets (2 Queens, 5 Twins including bunk beds with 1 Double bottom bed, 1 Sleep sofa and 1 Extra sofa mattress). Or linens can be rented locally. You can even bring your family dog!

Area Information
Monteray Shores is also walking distance (15 minutes) to a food store, and the Tim Buck II entertainment and restaurant area which includes shops, restaurants, and boat rentals. Lots to choose from and all at your finger tips.
Or ride up the road to the Corolla Lighthouse, Four-wheel drive beach and wild horses. Plenty for a family of all ages to do.
PS - Partial week/weekend rentals are not available in the summer (June thru August) except about 10 days in advance of the dates you'd like to rent. Preference is given to our weekly rental customers in the summer.

Gorgeous Sound Views

I have vacationed in the Outer Banks many times now and this house has (by far) the prettiest panoramic view of the sound. I told my husband that normally I want to eat out at every restaurant with a waterfront view, but not so much this time, as we had the best view at this house. We enjoyed watching the many cats next door and were amazed that two foxes sat on the dock sunning themselves- totally oblivious to the cats. Just across from this community is a neighborhood with public parking for access to the beach. We really enjoyed walking our dogs out there. The weather was cool, but we still had a good time doing things such as the jeep tour to see the wild horses, the Currituck Lighthouse, museums, etc. We also used the kayaks at the house one day and that was very enjoyable and peaceful on the sound. All in all my family had a good time and will be back. The fees you save versus using a rental agency alone are worth it.

I highly recommend staying at this house. It is very clean, nicley decorated, Tv's in bedrooms, wi-fi with a house computer and a special compter room with tables/chairs and pull out couch. Lots of big windows and light, patio doors and decks. A really fun house with lots of cool levels to explore!! Bikes, boats, laundry, crab pots and a super easy owner who is soooooooo nice and pleasant!!! This is the first time I have used Vacation Home Rentals by Owner and ED made it super easy to arrange everything!! Thank you, Ed!!!

Relaxing Family Vacation

Had a great time at your place! Loved seeing the sun rise on the back decks and viewing the gorgeous sunsets in the evening. My husband and I spent some quality time on your porch swing with our evening cocktails. My dad celebrated his 81st birthday while we were there and was thrilled to be down at the beach with extended family and grandkids. Close proximity to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The owner was great to work with.

Great house!

Two families with 6 children under 9 years old just finished an amazing week in Corolla. This house was laid out very well for social and private spaces. The access to the sound for crabbing and kayaking is 100 yards out the back door. The beach is a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive to public parking. The house provided everything we needed and we had a great experience, even on the rainy days. The only suggestion I would make is to bring filtered water. The whole island has a bit of an after taste.

Great Home for a Great Price!

My family recently stayed at this property and we couldn't have been happier. The house was very large and accommodating. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed to cook at home. The bedrooms were large and comfortable. The main living space (open kitchen/living room) was freshly remodeled and huge. It was also well stocked with movies, games and books. The private dock into the sound was very relaxing, and the house is even right next to the even larger public dock, which was one of our favorite spots on the trip. We saw an otter, and turtles swim to the sides like ducks to be fed when you walk out to see the sound. We regularly saw large turtles crossing through the backyard. The outdoor shower was quite refreshing after a long day at the beach. We also loved the decks on every level, giving wonderful views of the sound. The front porch swing was also very charming. The bicycles and kayaks worked perfectly, we made good use of them. The Corolla area was relaxing, but there were still things to do. The grocery store (Food Lion) was about 5 minutes away as well as restaurants and a small movie theater. The house was also about 5 minutes from several wild horse adventures, which was a really cool experience. As a first time visitor to the Outer Banks, and after seeing the rest of the nearby towns Corolla seemed like the best place to stay, a nice balance of peace and quiet and still having enough activities for families to do. 888 Marsh Landing really blew us away. It was such a wonderful and comfortable vacation home, and the price couldn't be beat.

We rented this house for a weekend and had a great time. Plenty of space with all new carpet through out. We saw a racoon and 2 foxes next door. It is quiet and peaceful, but just a few miles from driving on the beach. Corolla has a new 27 hole Putt putt golf and bumper car place that just opened that weekend. Walk out on the private pier at night and you can see more stars than you can imagine. We dealt directly with the owner who was very flexible and accomodating.

The house was incredible. So much more than we expected. The owner (Ed) was flexible and easy to work with and we loved having access to the kayaks and bikes on site. The view is memorizing, and the house is spacious and extremely comfortable. My family and I had a wonderful time.

This place is a gem! The house is beautiful I especially enjoyed sunsets on the dock! The house is loaded with things to do crab pots, kayaks, and bikes. Not to mention the community center! I would stay here again for sure and the owner is totally nice and easy to work with. I would highly recommend this house to anyone who loves the feeling of home away from home! If your home was in the Outter Banks that is.

I just wanted to send you a quick email to let you know how much we enjoyed our weekend. During our brief visit I witnessed 2 foxes, a turtle laying eggs behind the trash cans, a lovely chorus of frogs each night and stars brighter than I've seen in years. The weather was beautiful and it was all the relaxation we were looking for. We also enjoyed the close shopping and had a blast with bumper cars and go-kart racing. A great community and location!
