Description of the Cortez vacation cottage rental
ABOVE "RATES" ARE FOR UPPER UNIT ONLY- FIRST LEVEL UNIT RATES ARE DISCOUNTED 20% OFF THE UPPER UNIT RATE. PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL TO DISCUSS RENTING BOTH UNITS AT THE SAME TIME, FOR LARGER PARTIES, (IE., FAMILY REUNION, MULTI-FAMILY).
Cortez Village is one of the last "Old Florida" working fishing villages. Dine waterside, or just enjoy a casual stroll through the "village".
This rental consists of (2) units on seperate floors.
Both units are 2 Bedrooms + 1 Kitchen + 1 Bath
Both units have separate keyed entrance ways.
The Upper unit is approx. 1200 sf., with sliding glass leading to rear deck and canal views. Sleeps 4+ guests.
The First floor unit is approx. 900 sf., with sliding glass leading to rear patio and dock. Sleeps 6+ guests.
THERE IS A DISCOUNT WHEN BOTH UNITS ARE RENTED.
NOTE: (1) small dog allowed. please add $12.00/day to rate.
You can have the relaxing peaceful time you deserve. This is truly a neighborhood setting, yet just stroll across the Cortez bridge and take advantage of all the Islands amenities.
Disney World and Orlando attractions are close, about 1.5 hours drive.

Area Information
Cortez is a wonderful place to go when you want to experience Florida "like it used to be". Walking through this little fishing village, it's as if you've entered a bygone era. The village is on Sarasota Bay and was originally settled in the 1880s. The early fishermen found a wealth of seafood here, and safe harbor for their fleet. Today you can still enjoy the their bountiful daily catch, fresh from the sea, while dining within sight of the boat it came from. To experience more of the area, simply walk across the Cortez Bridge to Anna Maria Island, or Long Boat Key and enjoy all that Island life has to offer.

I would recommend it to one and all.
We enjoyed our stay immensely and hate to return to the cold weather,
at home. It is still snowy and cold.
The unit is so roomy and the deck was a great place to relax.
We could watch the boats using the canal and see the sun rise (almost)
every morning.
Its a great place to stay and a good location for getting to other
destinations.
I would recommend it to one and all. Thank you!

Q:What do you mean by Upper Unit and First floor units?
A:This vacation property consists of (2) separate levels. which we refer to as Upper unit & First floor unit. Units typically rent out as separate units, but will discount if you have a large party & wish to reserve both units (Family Reunion?). Both units have (2) bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom. The Upper unit is approx. 1200sf, the first floor unit approx. 900sf. If stairs are an issue please consider the First floor unit. Each unit has its own entrance, and there is no pass-thru between levels.
Q:What do you mean by the First Level unit is discounted 20% off the Upper level unit?
A:Posted rates represent the Upper unit rates only. To calculate the First floor units rental rate discount the posted rate by 20%. Discount to rent both units will be discussed individually.
Q:What's the coolest thing about your vacation rental?
A:This property is directly on a canal that leads to the calm warm Sarasota Bay. That's huge! We have seen Manatee from 6 feet away. You can fish right in your own backyard. Bring your boat and tie off on the dock @ no additional charge. Bring a Kayak and paddle 1 minute to the Bay- see the Dolphins jump right next to you.
Just sit, relax and wave at the passing boats. If none of that matters, simple walk across the bridge (5 min.) and you're on Anna Maria Island. There's a free trolley that runs all day, up and down the Island. Just walk to the end of the street and you can go deep sea fishing, para-sailing, boat tours, rent Kayaks or Sea-doo's, or simple enjoy a cool drink at the restaurant or marina.
