The Perfect Escape

June 7, 2011

We enjoyed our stay at "The Bounty" tremedously. What a wonderful little surprise. We found it on line and were looking forward to seeing it in person. It has so much personality. We enjoyed hiking nearby and saw lots of wildlife. Exploring the cabin was and adventure too. Trying to imagine what it was like when it was first built and who lived there provided us with hours of entertainment. The second floor screened in porch was also a great place to sit and watch the birds come and go and enjoy a nice breeze. We will certainly return and bring friends with us next time.

My husband and I just returned from a long weekend at Roger's cabin with our 2 dogs. We live in Roanoke, so we were able to get there in just an hour and a half but felt we were a world away! If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway and you appreciate the "older" things in life, you will love this 170 year old cabin. The kitchen and bathrooms are up to date (I don't do rustic!) We will be back!

Perfect Cabin for group of friends or family

July 29, 2009

Just wanted to add that we listened to the VT vs BC game on the radio...was just like the old days before TV! Popped popcorn in front of the roaring fire! We will be going back this year again for a week!

Great weekend getaway!

October 21, 2008

A group of six of us stayed here for the weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and found the owner very helpful and personable. We hope to make this an annual event for our group of friends. The cabin was beautiful and it had all the amenities that we needed. The rooms were large and the living room fire was perfect and easy to manage. We spent time relaxing in doors next to the fire and also outside on the front deck. We will definitely stay longer next year. A weekend just doesn't cut it. The only negative was that we all were interested in watching a little bit of the VA Tech game on Saturday night and could not get the TV to work with the cable. Otherwise, we really have no complaints. It was an easy drive from Central Virginia. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend and we will definitely be back next year for a longer stay. JCT
