Description of the Covington vacation cabin rental

Pre-Civil War log cabin on 3 acres in rural western Virginia. The cabin has been completely renovated with all modern amenities. The four bedrooms can sleep 8 comfortably. There are 2 working fireplaces, 2 porches, and a large back deck to enjoy nature. Extremely private and quiet. Marvel at the huge hand hewn timbers used for construction. Explore the hidden rooms and passageways. There is a TV with DVD player. Please bring your own DVDs. There is also a phone with local access.

The cabin is located 18 miles SW from Covington proper. It is 20 miles from White Sulphur Springs and Greenbrier. Several state parks are within 35 miles. Golfing, fishing, hiking, skiing, are just a couple of activities to enjoy.
Roanoke, with all attributes of a modern city, is 50 minutes by car.

My husband and I just returned from a long weekend at Roger's cabin with our 2 dogs. We live in Roanoke, so we were able to get there in just an hour and a half but felt we were a world away! If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway and you appreciate the "older" things in life, you will love this 170 year old cabin. The kitchen and bathrooms are up to date (I don't do rustic!) We will be back!

Just wanted to add that we listened to the VT vs BC game on the radio...was just like the old days before TV! Popped popcorn in front of the roaring fire! We will be going back this year again for a week!

A group of six of us stayed here for the weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and found the owner very helpful and personable. We hope to make this an annual event for our group of friends. The cabin was beautiful and it had all the amenities that we needed. The rooms were large and the living room fire was perfect and easy to manage. We spent time relaxing in doors next to the fire and also outside on the front deck. We will definitely stay longer next year. A weekend just doesn't cut it. The only negative was that we all were interested in watching a little bit of the VA Tech game on Saturday night and could not get the TV to work with the cable. Otherwise, we really have no complaints. It was an easy drive from Central Virginia. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend and we will definitely be back next year for a longer stay. JCT
