Description of the Cowichan Bay vacation home rental
This Property is located in a quiet cul-de-sac overlooking Cowichan Bay below. this 2 storey home has two 2Bdr units on two levels, but can also function as a one family home, or be set up as a Bed and Breakfast operation. Because the Owners wish to travel for the next two years, this house is either for rent on a long-term basis (6 months minimum )or for sale with all furnishings included. The upper level of the house consists of a kitchen with breakfast nook and a sliding door to outside decks. There is a large open dining room/living room with a view of the bay below. Of the two bedrooms located on this level, one has a queensize sleigh bed and overlooks the Bay , the other has a queensize adjustable electric bed, an en-suite bathroom and overlooks the garden. Also located on this level are a small library and laundry room, which are located next to the main bathroom.
On the entry level below is the smaller of the two bedroom units, which has a bathroom with showerstall, a large living room with fireplace and eat-in area, a fully equipped small kitchen, a bedroom with queen-sized 4-poster bed and a second bedroom with 2 twinsized beds which are adjustable, electric beds.A computer is also provided.
The entire house is electrically heated and fully broadloomed , with oriental area rugs. It's beautifully decorated and is equipped with beautiful china and linens. There a several stereos throughout the house and wifi will enable you to use your laptops anywhere, including the gardens. There is ample parking, including space for a motorhome. This home is a registered Bed and Breakfast with BBCanada and BC Tourism approved.Upper $1200,lower $800
Area Description
The Cowichan Valley is known for it's mild climate and it's
beautiful Ocean and mountain views. The house, known as By the Bay, is surrounded by vineyards, marinas and wonderful parks and little beaches. Golf, watersports, fishing, cycling and whale-watching are just some of the activities you will enjoy here, and nearby stables offer trail rides and lessons. Many talented artists make their home in this community and in Duncan, which is known as the " City of Totems" and is only a 5 Minute drive away.
You'll want to check out the many hiking trails and parks, some with stands of old rainforest leading down to the sea, where you'll see herons and eagles competing with the local fishermen. 3 different wineries are located in the immediate area, with many more scattered around the countryside, and all offer winetasting tours throughout the year. The Saturday Farmer's Market offers organically grown produce from the local farms, and local artist and artisans display their work. There are so many activities to get involved in on the island, day trips to one of the many gulf islands are very popular (those over 65 ride free on the ferries on designated days), as are trips to Victoria to the museums, galleries and the theater.
To have tea at the "Empress Hotel" is always one of the highlights of a day in Victoria, after you've seen the sights, but you better leave your calorie counter at home!
Whalewatching, fishing tours,sailing lessons, eco tours, wine tasting tours, photography hikes and more are all available in the village of Cowichan Bay.
