Description of the Cozumel vacation villa rental

Villa Debra is the only 4 bedroom home situated directly on the beach which is available for rent in Costa del Sol. The front door is only 65 feet from the turquoise and transparent sea. The sea in front is within the bounds of the Cozumel Reefs National Park. This home is located just south of Chankanaab National Park and only a 15 minute drive to downtown San Miguel. This luxurious home is part of the new community Costa del Sol, with 24 hour security, 135 ft pier, 400 ft beach, infinity pool plus children's pool, and coming soon - clubhouse and restaurant. Diving clubs can rent multiple homes in the community to accomodate larger groups. Just ask me about this.

This brand new four-bedroom home has three bedrooms on the first floor, each with a private bath. And, an incredibly huge second floor master suite with double bathroom. There are gorgeous views of the water from most every room and the "million-dollar view" from the second floor deck which will accomodate a large group. The first floor is spacious and open with a completely equipped kitchen which flows into the large dining room with seating for twelve. The living room, as well as the first floor master bedroom, is a wall of windows with a direct view of the water.

Area Description

Worldclass diving and snorkeling are two of the main attractions of the island. Any activity that can be enjoyed in the tropical climate is found on this paradise island. Golfing, swim with dolphins, glass-bottom boats, deep sea fishing, exquisite shopping, fine dining, jungle tours, and the list goes on.

We will have our rental management team assist you with planning your activities in advance of your trip, upon your request.

Owner Supplied Testimonials
This year’s trip was another great success. I entertained 40 clients, business friends and family over 4 weeks on Cozumel.

Hurricane Issues:
The only real hurricane issues I experienced were the trees not having all their leaves back yet and the lack of sand on the channel side of the islands beaches. But by the time I was leaving the trees were beginning to show a lot of improvement. On a positive note the hurricane clearly and very outwardly tightened the community spirit on Cozumel. The survival stories were great! Cozumel has a lot to be proud of compared to the rebuilding (or lack thereof) on the American Gulf coast. No comparison.

Accommodations:
If you have not been to Costa del Sol, you should. I have visited Cozumel over 20 times. I used to stay at Plaza Las Glorias, and then stayed at Las Brisas and last year a large villa called Santa Pliar, none remotely matched the quality of the 2 homes I stayed in over a 4 week period at Costa Del Sol. The 2 houses were Casa Deb and Cozumel Sol. Simply put they are brand new very large water front homes with American appliances / fixtures and beautiful Mexican furnishings. The grounds while still under construction were very nice. The pool was great and the hot tub was a nice feature. Their pier was especially convenient for us as our fishing boats and dive boats picked up up and returned us almost to our doorstep. Amber, Jim, Rick & Lynda with Cozumel Luxury Rentals were spectacular hosts. They came by everyday to check on us and if there was the least of a problem they fixed it almost immediately. Highly recommend these homes and the management company. Deb Stein and Darin Medley both posters on this site are the owners of the homes and checked in with us as well. It is always nice to feel like a customer.

Food:
We opted for the in home Chef service 7 mornings and 5 evenings a week. Lisa, Mario and Jose from Rock'n Java catered all our meals. I am still full. We had Mexican, American and even Italian gourmet food. They even made chicken fingers and homemade macaroni & cheese for the kids. While it was not cheap it was well worth the $50 /day for adults, $40 / day for teenagers and $8/ day for kids which included cocktails and appetizers before dinner for the adults. They served us more than we could eat, when we wanted to eat, which often changed a few times a week. Lisa would even pick up things from the store for us (no shopping fee) They were very careful to allow us our privacy but were also very much part of the group too. Every time we caught fish we would take them to Kelly's Bar & Grill to cook them. They did a great job. I would usually bring the fish around 7ish and let the troops get some shopping done and meet back arould 8:30 for dinner. Gene and his gang would prepare our own family style meal including drinks for about $20 a person (not a fixed price).

Activities:
Every week we went to the wild side, scuba dove, snorkeled and fished. Wahoo tours arranged everything. Everyday either Jim or Manny would come to the house at breakfast and cocktails hour to see what we wanted to do. As a thank you gift they arranged a show featuring an excellent guitar player / singer and fire chain dancers. Awesome! They also arranged for a photographer to come out for $180 and take 70 plus pictures of our family. Great value that included the negatives. Fishing was great especially the last 3 trips we took on board La Graaan Cosa. Captain Charlie and his 20 year mate Louis are simply the best. My teenage daughters and friends caught 6 Mahi Mahi's one trip, released a white marlin another trip and had a double hook up and released two sail fish the final trip. The pictures will serve as family memories forever.

Summary:
Next year's Cozumel Boondoggle will definitely be at Costa Del Sol. We will work with the same team again. 4 weeks is a long time to be away from home and the regular rigor of business ownership, but well worth it. The island is fine, while the hurricanes were brutal; the
Cozumelenos take it as just part of being an island in the Caribbean.
If anyone wants to talk to me personally about the trip or anyone we worked with feel free to e mail me at rlackey@citycre. While I may be slow in replying I will reply.

Thanks to all that made the Cozumel Boondoggle 2006 another success!
