Description of the Crescent City vacation home rental

Scenically located on the Northern California Coast, our vacation home is located 85 miles north of Eureka and 30 miles south of the Oregon border in Crescent City. Comfortably furnished and built in 2000, our spaciously designed 1,300 square foot, two story vacation home includes an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an observation room. Spectacular views from the observation room and the upstairs bedroom highlight the coast, mountains, and Battery Point Lighthouse.

Our convenient location is 1/2 block from the beach where a spiral stairway provides easy access to explore tidepools and beachcomb. Historic Battery Point Lighthouse, just a few blocks away, has tours available and is accessible during low tide. Redwood National and State Parks, the Smith River National Recreation Area, and the Lake Earl Wildlife Area are all just a short drive away.

Some of the numerous awe inspiring outdoor opportunities in this amazing corner of the world include: exploring the ancient redwood forest, strolling beautiful ocean beaches, hiking magnificent forest and majestic mountain trails, and rafting, kayaking, or swimming the pristine blue green waters of the Smith River.

Deep in the heart of the Northern California Redwoods (355,000 acres of national redwood forest), we have access to some of the oldest and most beautiful trees on earth.
There are many many state and federal parks with 100's of miles of hiking trails through the ancient Redwoods and giant ferns. 6 miles to Jed Smith Redwood Park and 7 miles to Stout Grove National Park.
The Redwoods enclose 3 sides of our community with the majestic pacific ocean on the 4th. Highway 101 enters from the north and south and highway 199 from the east. All 3 are small 2 lane highways which helps keep our lands quiet and unpolluted.
We have several beautiful rivers with excellent Salmon and Steel-head fishing as well as great Ocean fishing. The last truly wild river in the US - The Smith River - is within 5 miles of our Vacation Homes.
Del Norte County is the last pristine section of coast line in California and we think it's the best.

We have a local airport - CEC - which has direct flights to San Fransisco 3 times a day.

Very nice home. Nicely furnished with new, modern furniture and appliances. Comfortable beds, good views of ocean from upstairs bedroom. Fantastic beach access (just across the street)! Good weather except it was very windy every afternoon...got the feeling that this is normal this time of year. 10 min walk to Battery Point Lighthouse. Quiet town, not a lot of tourist-y shops. Gorgeous redwoods short drive away.

This house was perfect in every way. Immaculate, comfortable, just a neat place to come "home" to after doing all the tourist stuff each day. Located near the beach and convienent to all of the town's ammenities.
