Crestline is considered the gateway to the camping and recreation activities of the San Bernardino National Forest, because it is the closest mountain resort town to the cities. Even though it is only about a 20-minute drive from San Bernardino and much of the Inland Empire, many remark that it seems like they are in a different world when they visit. The temperature is usually 20 degrees cooler than down the mountain, and there are four distinct seasons.
In summer, many visitors from all over Southern California come to Lake Gregory to swim, boat and fish. Throughout the year, visitors come to shop in Crestline's unique stores or stay in our lodges and in vacation rentals around the lake. Most of these vacation rentals are a great affordable alternative to smaller hotel rooms.
There are many events throughout the year. On Memorial Day, we celebrate the opening of Lake Gregory's swimming area, which stays open through Labor Day. Memorial Day and Labor Day are also popular with visitors who come to browse scores of yard sales throughout the town--a tradition for many years in Crestline.
On July 4, the town comes alive for Jamboree Days, which draws tens of thousands for the town parade, gift and food vendors, an old-fashioned family event at the lake, and fireworks at night. Book your reservations early!
Other events include fishing derbies at the lake, the Mountain Fun Runners Car Show, the Redlands Bicycle Classic and a new paragliding competition that is being planned for the summer. A calendar of Crestline/Lake Gregory events. The calendar is sponsored by the Crestline Chamber of Commerce.
Beautiful Mountain and Lakeside Weddings in Lake Gregory:
The San Bernardino Mountains have provided the backdrop for some of the most memorable weddings, receptions and honeymoons in Southern California. The beautiful San Moritz Lodge lat Lake Gregory in Crestline is the perfect, scenic place to hold both weddings and receptions. You may contact Lake Gregory Regional directly for information on the lodge and reservations.
Swimming, Fishing, and Boating are just a mile away:
Refresh yourself with a swim in a cool mountain lake. Bring the family and enjoy temperatures in the 80s instead of the 100s. Lake Gregory Regional Park offers a great place for visitors to escape the summer heat of Southern California. The lake's surface is at an elevation of 4,550 feet and the ridges around the lake climb up to a thousand feet higher. Summer temperatures are often 20 degrees cooler than in San Bernardino, which is only 14 miles away by car. Unlike Lake Arrowhead, which is private, visitors can swim, boat and fish in Lake Gregory.
In summer, many visitors from areas of Southern California and Nevada come to Lake Gregory, where they can swim, ride on the lake’s two 300-foot waterslides, and rent paddleboards, rowboats, paddleboats, sailboats and water cycles. Outside of the swimming area, anglers will find excellent fishing for trout, catfish and bass.
The lake is also an excellent place to exercise in the cooler mountain air whether you run or walk. There is now a state-of-the-art fitness trail with all-new exercise stations along the scenic path around the lake.
The dual waterslides at Lake Gregory are popular with bathers. The lake's swimming area includes sandy beaches, rest rooms, two snack bars, grills, picnic tables, picnic shelters, sand volleyball courts and more. The grill and picnic areas may be reserved for large gatherings, where visitors can combine swimming, picnicking, watersliding and an outdoor mountain barbeque.
New Skate Park, Tennis and Basketball and Brand New Library Branch across from Lake Gregory.
Fabulous Lake Arrowhead is just 10 Minutes away. Huge Lake Silverwood is about 15.
Less than an hour or so to Disneyland and many parts of Orange & Los Angeles Counties.

Great Family Fun

This vacation rental was wonderful! We enjoyed the town of Crestline particularly because of the location of this rental and it's homey feel. We loved how clean and usable the home was. All the comforts of home in the beauty of a small mountain community! We will certainly visit again.
Comfy, Cozy Retreat

We had a wonderful time in this lovely cabin. A most incredible view and sunsets. Birds and stars and a lake so close by. The cabin was just the right size and location. And dog friendly. We are looking forward to our next visit.
