Description of the Cushing vacation cottage rental

this is my summer home. There are decks of 2 sides for waterviews (sunrise) or fields (sunsets) It is a semisecluded getaway for relaxation yet close to reataurants, museums, festivals, sailing ships. Modern kitchen with complete gourmet utinsils. I have a Vermont Casting stove with glass doors that open to be a fireplace. Spread a thick quilt on the floor in front for a cozy evening together watching the flickering flames.

On the high point of land is a cedar chair swing to watch the eagles and osprey dive for fish when the tides are up. There is a crushed rock pathway down to a pebble beach. At halftide, you may canoe or kayak.

Sit on the decks, listen to the stereo or watch a DVD. All sorts of books are in the bookcases.

Master bedroom has double bed and electric heat if needed. Second bedroom has a trundlebed set that makes a double bed. all have handmade quilts.

Cushing is a rural town. there are many artists (sometimes their open house studios)and writers living here so it is quiet and low key. Rockland (6 miles) has many restaurants, boutiques, and galleries. The Farnsworth Museum has the most extensive collection of the Wyeth family artists. Owls Head Antique museum has antiqur airplanes and vehicles of all sorts. There aer weekly shows.

The NE Blues Festival is in July. Lobster festival - a weeklong occasion is in early August. The Blueberry Festival is in mis Aug with horse racing. All alonr the coast are sailing ships (day and week) and fishing excursions.

Lighthouses and "mountain" climbing are popular happenings. Lincolnville beach has a great sandy stretch that is childsafe and has "treasures" they can find in the seaweeds and tidal pools
