Deale, MarylandDescription of the Deale vacation home rental
EVENTIDE, an A-frame cottage, is situated on quiet Carrs Creek, a cove off the Chesapeake Bay. It was featured in the magazine, CHESAPEAKE LIFE, as a "delightful waterside retreat". The house, freshly painted with new contemporary furnishings, will delight you, relax you and energize you! A GREAT retreat to watch fall colors, Tundra white swans and Summer seagulls.
A huge wrap-around deck provides views of sunrise over the Chesapeake and sunsets over the cove. A treetop deck off the loft is perfect for stargazing and vistas of the Bay. Large sliding glass doors open to the decks from bedrooms, living room and loft, with the water always in view from every location. Each season brings delightful changes in colors and wildlife; each day provides adventures. Catch blue crabs off the dock, walk the neighborhood to Deale Beach, and watch the sailboats or barges on the Bay, drive to Chesapeake Beach to ride the waterslides.
The house is bright, sunny and decorated with creative, whimsical accessories. The furnishings are new, great beds and the loft with its deck puts you up in the trees. The open floor plan has cathedral ceilings throughout all the rooms, making the living space open, filled with light. Grab a book off the shelf and just relax!

There are fun things to see and do everywhere in the area, or just relax and watch the lazy days drift by. Catch crabs off the dock or sit and dangle your toes in the water. It is a great retreat after a day of seeing sights in Washington, a short 45 minute drive away. The neighborhood is lovely to walk around with gardens, flowers and boats. There are also benches and tables on the Bay for a picnic lunch.
The local guitar shop, Good Deale Blue Grass, has an open jam night each Friday evening, year-round. Lots of fun with fast bluegrass music.
Nearby are kayak tours of the Bay, a mile long boardwalk and fishing pier along the Bay in North Beach, plus a water park, too.
You can drive to Calvert Cliffs State Park and search for fossils; a maritime museum and light house in Solomon's Island is an hour south of the cottage. This is a great museum and the lighthouse tour is fun!!
The Smithsonian Research Center is close by and they have tours of water byways. London Town, in Edgewater, has an ongoing archeology exhibit as they excavate the lost
towns from the 1600's.
There are many historic sights all around and Annapolis is filled with history, great restaurants and boat tours of the Bay, even a pirate ship cruise. Add a visit to the U.S. Naval Academy for sure.
