Description of the Deer Island vacation home rental

This 4000 s.f. Victorian style modern country home is a very special quality,inside and out. All photos in the ad are recent and describe the house. Furnishings are complete and tasteful. You need only bring food and beverage.
We built this home in 1996 and loved living there relaxing and invigorating,but now age and health issues prevail.. If visitors gain a little joy,relaxation and love from this retreat, then we share it gladly.
Nature surrounds in a gentle,unobtrusive way with ocean beach and acres of trees offering seclusion and beauty.

Area Information

Deer Island is a very special place,like no other. Go back in time and live with people who work on the sea, enjoy this place with its bountiful natural wonders. The worlds highest tides nuture marine life that is abundant to enjoy,from periwinkles to whales,and everything in between.
Our home sits on the hill overlooking Cummiings Cove Beach and the southerly view includes Eastport,Me. and the Campobello bridge. One can walk to the beach in a few minutes. Deer Island is pleasántly isolated by limited access, so biking and hiking and boating is easy and uncrowded.
The ferry services from New Brunswick(free) and Maine operate hourly during daylight, and are convenient and reliable,but are limited in size ; Deer Island is a working island with 1000 souls mostly fishers.
It is not a tourist destination, and you will not see a tourist resort,but you canl see eagles,osprey,cormorants,heron,teal,gulls,seals,porpois e,whales,lobster,crab,scallops,mussels,periwinkles,mack erel,sardines, clams, pollack,and of course, deer
