Property consists of 1.6 acres of private land with large house overlooking Penobscot Bay. The Bay side of the house faces a lawn which leads to stairs that descend to the shore.

Area Information

The northwestern shore of Deer Isle is a mix of woods and open fields overlooking picturesque Penobscot Bay. The house and shoreline is nestled within diverse natural landscapes. The shore is ideal for launching kayak trips, beach-combing and clam bakes.

Our shore property is perfect for beachcombing, kayaking and clambakes. We do not provide kayaks but if you can provide your own there are great kayaking opportunities in Penobscot Bay and the islands surrounding Stonington.

Sometimes the best vacations are the ones done impulsively! Determined to break free from the stresses of our hectic lives, we found this gem of a place on the internet ... and to our surprise, found so much more than what we could see in pictures on the net. Aside from the rustic qualities of the house and its lovely deck, one has fantastic Westerly views with magnificent sunsets. The walk down to the beach if a hoot with its staircase and the otters, porpoises, bald eagles, fox, and (of course...) deer make for an amazing experience. Each of us took turns kayaking on the mostly tranquil waters to offshore islands. The property is peaceful and private. In the evening, one sees a few billion starts and some shooting across the night's sky. Deer Isle is a wonderful escape into a more innocent time. Almost like stepping back into the 1910s...
