situated in a grassy clearing surrounded by towering
alders and fir trees, located in the quiet, beautiful woods of Maine. Away from the road, located on a 20+ acre plot, surrounded by woods and wildlife. It is not uncommon to see deer from the cottage windows. The wild life is outstanding making this a great place for fishing and hunting but also great for families wanting to enjoy Maine at its best! The cottages are suitable for active couples, groups of friends and families with or without children, yachters and kayakers, seminars or retreats. The cottages are fully equipped for self catering.
The breath taking beautiful coast offers sea kayaking,
sailing, whale watching, and sea duck hunting. The many
rivers, lakes, streams and ponds will appeal to all types
of anglers, from the experienced to the novice. Kayaking is very popular on Deer Isle, because of the outstanding views and for the many coves and inlets to explore. Exploring the rocky coast line, deserted islands and granite quarries while kayaking is also very fun and popular.

Annual Getaway

My husband Carl and I have been staying at Dry Cove Cottage every October since 2008. We come to celebrate our anniversary, the beautiful Maine foilage and Carl's birthday. The cottage is perfectly secluded but yet not too far from anything. You can definately rely on the photos in the advertisement, they portray the cottage perfectly. The accomodations are simply comfortable. The kitchen is complete with your essentials even lobster pots. You will also find many helpful sightseeing brochures and maps there to help you plan your day. The people of Deer Isle, Stonington, Blue Hill are just so friendly, well the people of Maine in general are so friendly and the Landlord, Ricky Spafford, very welcoming and hospitable, thats if your lucky enough to see him at all. I would reccomend this little getaway for a nice romantic setting as well as a family vacation. We can't wait to go back!!!
