This home was built at the turn of the 19th Century and underwent a full restoration and modernization in 2011, keeping the charm of the original log, wood and stone home while updating it with amenities such as the country kitchen, in-floor heating, tile floors, spacious bath, luxurious beds, WiFi, flat-panel TV and cozy covered porches...
Thoughtfully making the Cottage comfortable & hip for today's visitors while carefully preserving the charm from almost a hundred years ago, the owners have created an inviting retreat that is close to all the Piedmont has to offer...horses, history and wine!
The lovely country home is perfectly situated on top of a small hill, offering spectacular views in every direction of its own acreage and surrounding farms and mountains. The Cottage is accented by stone walls, towering trees, lush lawn areas and a great bonfire-pit for outdoor enjoyment.

Great Getaway

We had a lovely visit at this cabin. Very convenient to a number of wineries and a great place to relax for the weekend. Hope to come back for a return visit in the near future!

Absolutely Amazing

This cabin/cottage is one of kind. The atmosphere is just breathe taking. I will definitely come back again. The whole experience is one of kind. I had a small gathering with friends to celebrate my 31st Birthday and they were all amazed with the cottage. It was clean and well maintained. Outstanding experience.

Refreshing Getaway!

The weather was perfect, and afforded a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy the fresh country air. The cabin is as described, and very well appointed with furniture, etc. The architecture and the manner in which it was so lovingly and authentically restored was beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay and the fact that our best friend Max (the sweetest yellow lab you'll ever know) could travel and stay with us was a huge plus. What a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the richness of this beautiful area, and the fact that there were so many wineries in the area made for a superb getaway. Thank you so much..we'll definitely be back!

Oasis of comfort and relaxation!

Lovely cottage in a quiet country road of Northern Virginia yet only 50 mins from Washington. The cabin is well appointed with all the amenities one may need for a short or long term stay. The log cabin has been fully modernized and the decor is charming. Best of all although in a very quiet country road our location was only just minutes away to many wineries and other tourist attractions particular to that area of Virginia. We would certainly return as our 4 nights stay in late August and early September left us wanting more time to enjoy this wonderful cottage and more days to discover that beautiful area of Virginia, so a return trip is in our future plans. We would highly recommend the cottage to anyone who might be considering a visit to this part of Virginia.

Our family of 5 needed to get away from the city forafew weeks and found this great little cottage. It was perfect for everyone's needs as we have a teenager, preteen and a 4 yr old. Being so close to the winery's was great. Also, we enjoyed going to Twilight Polo in The Plains because of the great location. There is a great spot set up for a outdoor fire that we utilized a few times. My husband and I would enjoy sitting on the porch in the morning with our coffee and again in the evening with a glass of wine. There was plenty of space to have a little gathering of friends too. We can't wait to stay in the cottage again!
