Whale Watching and Shopping in Depoe Bay (3 miles south of the Octopus Garden);

Concerts and Dining in Gleneden Beach (just 1 mile north);

Kite flying and Glass Blowing, Shopping at the Tanger Mall, and Dining in Lincoln City (seven miles north);

And...watch for that green flash at sunset ~ you never know!

Visit the Historic Bayfront, Nye Beach District, and the Aquarium in Newport (Located just 17 miles south).

There is a Sentry Market just 1/2 mile south on HWY 101, and an IGA just six miles north in the Taft District of Lincoln City.

Great place, great people, great location, August 18, 2009

True, this property is not sitting on the beach. However, it's only a few houses away. The beach is fantastic, but don't think you can go for a swim if you're not a strong swimmer. Them's some strong waves and they come in VERY quickly. The house is stocked with everything you need. We made it a game to try to find out where it was lacking. We lost. They even had leftover containers! Espresso machine was a nice touch too. The yard's filled with whimsy and it was a fun place to be. The house itself is also very clean, filled with artwork (real art, too... not just prints) and the beds are very comfortable. It also has a GAS stove, great for cooking. If you're planning on seeing the coast's sights, then this is a great place to be. If you're more of a stay-at-vacation-home person, you'll probably be looking for something on the beach. That being said, you're only a 2 minute walk to the beach, so perhaps you can have your cake and eat it too. Great value and conven
