Now is the time to book your fall getaway, and it is never to early to make arrangements for Spring Break and Summer 2015!

Our tastefully decorated condo has a large kitchen, 3 FULL SIZED bedrooms (no bunk room) and 3 FULL baths, covering 1400 square feet. There are two master suites with private baths, and a third bathroom for use by the third bedroom and other occupants. We also have a sleeper sofa for the extra kids and play yard type crib, making the capacity of the unit 8 people plus baby, large enough for your extended family or even two families!

Enjoy our large, fully accessorized kitchen with all standard appliances plus microwave, blender, coffee maker and toaster. The adjacent dining area has a capacity for 9 people. We have a washer and dryer in the unit for your use as well. Our home is decorated in fresh colors to remind you of the relaxing reasons you are staying with us. The master suite has a private door out onto the large wrap around main balcony, a king size bed with a BRAND NEW mattress set (Dec. 31, 2013) and memory foam topper, dressing area & Jacuzzi tub in the private bath. The middle bedroom has twin beds adjacent to the hall bath. The 2nd master suite has a comfortable queen size bed with memory foam topper, and a private balcony. This is a fully accessorized suite with a wet bar, small refrigerator, microwave and separate climate controls. We have a play yard type crib for our little guests as well. All bedrooms have new, comforotable carpet.

The living room is detailed with a new 37” flat screen TV and DVD player, the master suite has a new 32" flat screen TV with DVD, the second master suite has a new 24" flat screen TV and the kids' room also has a 21" flat screen TV (4 TVs total!). Bring your laptop or tablet, as we have wireless high speed internet, (with wired connections too for the "bad" signal days) and of course, local phone service.

The unit is conveniently located on the third floor, high enough to enjoy the view, but low enough to get you in and out quickly. Our unit is located on the beach side of the building (an important benefit as some 3/3 units are on the street side) so you can enjoy views of the ocean & see vistas of the lakes, fountain & picturesque bridge crossing in front of you from our wrap around balcony. If your kids are old enough to be at the pool alone, you can still watch them swim from the balcony. We are 250 - 300 yards from the beach via a dedicated boardwalk with no streets to cross – you never leave the property. The walk takes about 3 minutes or in the summer the golf cart style shuttle takes less than 30 seconds. Why pay $1000 more per week for a similar condominium directly on the beach? We can certainly think of better ways to spend that additional $1000!!!!!!

All amenities available at Pelican Beach Resort are at your disposal. The Terrace building has its own pool, hot tub, gas grills and exercise center, but as our guest, you may also use the two pools at the Pelican building, hot tub, baby pool, tennis courts, exercise center and sun deck, or enjoy a snack at the Market Café or a drink at the beach front Tiki Bar (both open seasonally - March through September). Kids can participate in the spring and summer Kid’s Club activities. All of the pools are heated in fall, winter and spring, so swimming is available anytime! And of course, there is the beach, consistently voted one of Florida's best beaches. Enjoy the powder white sand between your toes, crystal green warm water and have fun, fun, fun!

Concerned about the busy vacation season? Don’t be, we have many local professionals that we can call on to address any needs you may have, just call us. The Pelican Beach Resort also has a guarded entrance with manned security seasonally. Different colored flags are flown on the beach daily indicating the mood of the Gulf (this is very important). Our unit has a coded digital lock and we will personalize an entry code for you – no worrying about shared keys (or losing keys) or unauthorized access.

Stay with us during the 4th of July holiday as thanks to the wrap around balcony, on a clear night you can see fireworks in all directions. Same for New Year’s but fewer people and pleasant weather, it can’t be beat.

We will do everything we can to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Please feel free to call us if you have any questions or would like more details about the condominium or location. We have many local people at our disposal, but we self manage this unit, and pass on the savings to you. We don’t charge “reservation fees”, “administrative fees” or have other hidden costs, what you see here and on the rate schedule is what we charge. Not only do we rent this condominium, but we use it ourselves 4 to 5 times per year, ensuring it is in top condition for our guests.

We’d love to have you come stay with us in our very own home away from home. We traveled to Destin as children, and the memories are still fresh in our mind. We bought our condominium here so we could give our children the same memories, and invite you to enjoy this experience with your family!

Destin is the perfect mix of activity and relaxation with something for everyone. And you know what they say – LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! Terrace at Pelican Beach Resort is located in the heart of Destin, close to shopping, many restaurants, and activities including golf, fishing, parasailing, dolphin cruises, diving, Big Kahuna’s Water Theme Park (open in summer), the Track Theme Park and miniature golf and the Destin Harbor. Destin Commons, our local shopping district with trendy shops, restaurants, and a Rave theater is just a few miles down the road, and the Silver Sands Outlet Shops, with every name brand imaginable, are just a short distance farther!

We chose this particular location because like most, we wanted to have everything close by if we needed it, but also be in a place where we could do nothing.

Other Vacation Rental Amenities
The property consists of two buildings, the smaller, quieter Terrace building where our condo is located and the larger Pelican building. The Terrace building has only 97 units, 7 per floor, and ours is a quiet end unit on the beach side. Terrace has its own pool, hot tub and fitness center, but all amenities in both buildings located on the property are available to you, however guests of the Pelican building rarely, if ever, come use the Terrace pool and other amenities.

Great Experience

We stayed there for my daughter's wedding! Couldn't have asked for better for what we wanted and needed! Plenty of room! We entertained quite a bit there and it was lovely. The place was clean, nicely decorated and well equipped with things. Pleny of glasses, dishes, flatware, etc. Views were nice as well. It has been well taken care of and it shows. I would recommend it. This is the first time we have rented anyone's property, we usually go to a hotel, so I was a little nervous about doing this, but extremely happy with our experience!!

Great Vacation Spot!

THANK YOU so much for sharing your beautiful condo with us. It had all of the comforts of home, but none of the distractions. With just a very short walk, the private beach was an added luxury and the clear ocean water & white sands were PERFECT. The location of your condo could not have been any better. We ate dinner at several of the local restaurants in the area that you recommended and we were never disappointed. We really enjoyed shopping at the Outlet Mall & the local Flea Market that were both just a few miles away. We picked up some great bargains. We also spent an evening at HarborWalk Village and enjoyed live music and shopping there, too. And, with your wireless internet connection, it made keeping up with the rest of the world easy (when we wanted to!). We are definitely going to recommend your condo to our family and friends. We are already looking forward to next year’s vacation. We hope you will have some availability for us then too!!

Excellent Condominium!!! Top Notch!!!

We really enjoyed staying in this condo unit for the entire week in July, 2011. The condo was very big, it has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The balcony gave us a good view of the ocean (about 300 yards away) and also a good view of the beautiful lake near by. There was a washer and dryer locating in this condo unit, and that was very convenient because we didn't have to pack alot of clothes for the trip. There was another plus about this condo unit: The distance from this building to the beach was about the length of three football fields. So it's not too far for a short exercise walk, and it's not too close to the beach where some of the crowd's noise may wake you up from time to time at night. As far as Internet access, there was a DSL modem in the kitchen so you can use the Internet by simply plugging the Ethernet cable (already available and attached to the modem) to your laptop. But this means you will have to sit near the modem to use the Internet. What we did was we brought our own wireless router and simply plug the Ethernet cable (see above) into our router and voila... wireless Internet for everyone in our family who used their own laptops! We stayed in this condo unit during the July 4th week, but the beach was not very crowded at all. There were more people than usual, but it was not like elbows to elbows. Lots of room on the beach! Also, there was NOT a single trace of oil from the BP oil spill. Absolutely No Oil ll!!! Just beautiful clear water and white sugary sandy beach. The only thing we didn't like about the beach was sometimes when there was extremely high wind (storm), the seaweeds would be blown toward the beach. At least one day during our stay, there was lots of seaweeds. By the way, although the beach was not crowded, but the street traffic was heavy because it was during the July 4th holidays!!! When leaving Pelican Beach Resorts, it was impossible to make left turns between 9AM and 8PM. Our family members joked that if anyone of us could make left turn (safely) from 9AM to 8PM, then next year that person can stay here for free and we'd pay for all of his/her expenses :) Overall, I would give this give this condo unit 307 5/5 stars. The staff at the resorts also 5/5 stars, the Terrace building was very clean so it gets 5/5 stars. The entire Pelican Beach Resorts also deserves an overall rating of 5/5 stars. The owners of this condo unit also get 5/5 stars because they were very nice, helpful, and profesional Thank you!

Q: What are the most enjoyable things to do in Destin?
A: The beach is number 1 for sure! Our condo also has resort amenities such as pools, hot tubs, a restaurant, tiki bar, exercise rooms, outdoor grills, and plenty of spots to relax in the sun. Destin is a nice mix of friendly Southern people with tropical flair! There are plenty of places to shop, eat, drink and have fun very close to our condo. You can even take a helicopter tour of the city and beach!
Q: What makes your vacation rental property more special than the others?
A: That's easy - it' s us, the owners. Ken and I have both had our own businesses in the past, and we know customer service is what makes our guests happy and keeps them coming back. We personally manage this unit - we don't leave that to some company to whom our apartment is one on a list or a number on a peice of paper. We want our guests to be happy, refer their friends and return. To do that we know we must be responsive to our renters and provide a place they can truly have a good time. Most of us only get vacation a few weeks per year, and we want to make sure you feel that you spent your time wisely! Q: What is the coolest activity nearby?
A: That's a tough one as there is so much to do. There are great restaurants, shopping and activities. If we'd have to pick a few we'd say Big Kahuna's Water Park (right across the street) and all the wave runnner/dolphin watching tours! There is also fishing and parasailing.
Q: Why are the rates so different for the same apartments?
A: When we started as renters we noticed that too. We think there are a few reasons. 1. Some of the listings are actually rental companies, not individuals like us, who have to hide fees or their commission in the rates. 2. Some people think they have to make a profit on each rental, and set their prices higher not realizing full occupany and happy guests is what brings people back. Yes, we have costs too, but this condo is not our main business, we would just like it to pay for itself. 3. Cleaning fees - we make sure our condo is professionally cleaned after each guest to hotel standards or better, and that is not cheap. Most cleaning services, ours included, charge considerably more than the cleaning fee we charge our guests. Some owners try to make up for that in the rent, others like us look at it as a cost of doing business.
Q: What if there is something wrong with the apartment when I arrive or breaks while I am there - you are not local?
A: Great question - renting a vacation condo is very different from booking a hotel as we cannot simply "change your room." Of course, the benefits - extra space, full living area, fully accesorized kitchen, and price per capita certainly make a vacation condo a much more pleasant and cost effective experience than a hotel. But, a condo is a lived in home, no condo is perfect, and it has its imperfections. In addition, items do break and other minor issues may arise just as they do in your own home, and believe it or not, some guests do not tell us when they find something wrong or damage something, and if not caught by the cleaning company, it may not be noticed until you arrive. We don't live in Destin, but we are there 4 to 5 times per year to check the apartment and have local people who can be dispatched quickly to address concerns. The complex has onsite maintenance, and we have our own as well. We do everything we can to make sure your stay meets your expectations and is enjoyable.
