What we liked best was being so close to a beautiful beach and water and then coming home to a pool in the evening. Really loved that. I would recommend driving to the beach and not walking. It is close, but can be troubling getting down to the beach since the only access points near by are for hotels and are locked. Someone needs to be coming in or out. The walk is also a little long if you are taking a lot down to the beach (umbrella, chairs, cooler..etc). The drive to the public parking lot is short and sweet and worked much better. Plus the beach was a little less crowded there.
Wonderful time and spacious house!
We recently came to Okaloosa Island for my niece's wedding on the beach and found this beautiful home nearby. Others in our group rented condos which were very nice, but none offered the security of the garage or the privacy and comfort of a home which is exactly how this properety made us feel - like coming home. The neighbors are irreplaceable friends. The small private pool was great as we have a teenage girl who would need "guarding" at a public pool. The alarm on the door was a good idea for the 14 month baby & 10 year old boy. Being able to cook in the well-furnished kitchen saved money as we didn't always have to eat out. I usually don't sleep well in a different bed but these were comfy. The kids enjoyed the toybox. It's located close to everything: Nearby Henderson State Park has bathrooms, showers, picnic areas & a clean beach. Angler's had the best key lime pie. We got beautiful pictures on the sunset dolphin cruise. Getting to come "home" each night to relax was wonderful!
We stayed at the Raven's Nest April 14-17, 2009. What a nice place! The home is laid out so well and furnished beautifully. The small pool in the back yard was nicely heated and very private. The neighborhood was quiet and well-maintained, yet only a short block to the beach. There are tons of good restaurants and shopping centers within a couple square miles.
We have a 7-year-old with special needs, so a house works much better for us on vacation than a hotel room or condo does. Raven's Nest was perfect for us. Our daughter felt very comfortable there and especially enjoyed the pool. We will definitely be returning!
P.S. For anyone staying here, remember to keep a key in the front door lockbox at all times. We locked ourselves out by the pool one day and had all the keys inside the house! Luckily, we were able to reach the property manager, who came over and let us in (and was unbelievably nice about it, too!). Lesson learned!

Raven's Nest was an all around wonderful experience. The best equipped vacation home we have ever rented. Would recommend this property to everyone.
Beaches are a very short walk away, yet the surf could be heard out back most nights as if it was on the property.

We went with our children and grandchildren. Since there was a pool, I was very happy to see the alarms on the doors and windows to alert when doors or windows are opened.
The house was very nice, very clean and had everything we needed for the beach. Also, there was a beautiful gift basket waiting for us when we arrived!

Having the beach chairs, sandcastle molds, and umbrella was a great idea. I will know to pack less next time. I loved walking down to the beach.
