Great Home and Great vacation!

We recently stayed at the Ravens Nest and had a great time. My family of 4 shared the home with our friends (also a family of 4). We had 4 adults and 4 kids and had plenty of room. The home is nicely decorated, and the open concept in the living area ensured nobody was left out on the fun. A nice private backyard with a grill and small pool which the kids enjoyed. We did have an issue with the pool the last couple days we were there so we could not take advantage of it the way we had hoped, but overall we loved this place. Great location-easy to get to shopping, restaurants, and the beach is just a short stroll away. Highly recommend this home. Working with Mary on the rental details was a breeze. My family and I had an awesome time in Destin. The home was amazing and we can't wait to do it again next year. This was the best family vacation that we have done in a while. We enjoyed our stay in this lovely home during January and February of 2013. Everything was as advertised, except that the barbq was so dirty we could not use it, filled tank or not. All the new appliances were a joy to use and anything we needed was there such as utensils, dishes, etc. Would recommend this property.

Christmas to Remember

We recently vacationed in Destin in December, 2012. We usually visit Destin in the summer months, but thought we'd see what it's like in the winter. We LOVED it just as much as when we come in the summer! The houe we rented was VERY NICE and it truly felt like a home away from home. We brought our little dog with us and it was very pet friendly with a front yard and a fenced in back area around the pool. The gated community was very nice and well-kept. We loved being close to the Destin Commons Mall area and the Silver Sands Outlets -- this house was in the middle of them both! The house had been recently updated with granite countertops and all new appliances in the kitchen --WOW--very nice! All the bedrroms had queen and a king bed and that's very nice! The bedrooms all had nice tv's in them for watching at nighttime. Nothing had been forgotten when the owners furnished this house for vacation renters --- it was a true paradise retreat with style! Our family loves Destin, FL and we never want to leave when the vacation is over - but this time we felt that way even more than usual. We had such a wonderful experience, we're talkng about moving to Destin, FL in the future. Our family chose to go to Destin for our Christmas holiday and we are very happy that we did. It was a Christmas we'll never forget! We would definitely recommend this house and the experience we had to anyone wanting to visit Destin. We stayed at Raven's Nest for a week and had a fantastic time. The kids were in the pool every day and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the comfort and warmth of the home. We love the Destin area anyway and this was a great place to call home for the week. And what a great neighborhood to have a home in! Just minutes from the beautiful Harbor Walk area where we spent several evenings and just a pleasant stroll away from the beach. A short drive away from anything you may need. Owners were great to work with. Can't wait to go back!

Our recent stay at the end of May 2012 was so relaxing. Raven’s Nest was very clean and has every amenity you could possibly want for a beach vacation. No negatives at all. The Hoffman’s have a beautiful home! We were able to bring our Goldendoodle and truly enjoy a full family vacation. We did not want to leave.

A Very Special Vacation

We recently had the privilege of visiting Destin for the first time. After searching the internet carefully, we determined that Ravens Nest seemed that it would be a good fit for us. Our expectations were greatly exceeded! The home is delightful and is situated in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood that is near the beach. The closeness of the beach and the private pool Ravens Nest offered were the things we especially wanted for our trip. The beach was fabulous, and it was fantastic to be able to enjoy the pool in the lovely enclosed backyard! Everything we could have needed was provided for us at the house, and there was even a nice gift basket awaiting our arrival. The entire week was great---we have very special memories of our time spent in Destin and at Ravens Nest!

Raven's Nest was nestled in a perfect location; with just a short walk to the beach and minutes from many of the best local restaurants. The house is beautiful and can easily accommodate a group of 8 or 9. It was a lovely stay in a lovely home, I definitely recommend staying!

We were at Raven's Nest Jan 1st through March 12th, 2011, providing ample time to know the home and overall location very well. Home was clean and modern and well stocked with all essentials. Pool and yard were well kept and privacy fence a great touch. With the solar heating activated, we were able to use the pool the entire month of February -- very nice. Beach is a five minute walk and restaurants close and reasonable. King bed in master was nice and overall we were very pleased with the home. If you need assistance from the local management agency the owner retains, you will find them excellent to deal with. Kathy and Mike are the best. During our stay it was quiet and peaceful, but we left prior to spring break and don't know what summer conditions are like. There is a tremendous amount to see and do in the Destin area and we would recommend to friends.

My family and I had a great time in Destin. We enjoyed the beautiful home and was glad to have such a nice place to stay. It was close to everything we wanted to do. Open floor plan was nice so no one felt shut off if in the kitchen or sitting area. IT was very comfortble, the privacy on the back porch and pool was great. We would recommend Raven's Nest to anyone.

This home is great! The weather was cool but with the pool's electric heater set to 95 degrees we used the pool everyday. You are close to EVERYTHING! Neighborhood is safe and quiet. Could not have asked for more. We definitely want to stay here again!

What we liked best was being so close to a beautiful beach and water and then coming home to a pool in the evening. Really loved that. I would recommend driving to the beach and not walking. It is close, but can be troubling getting down to the beach since the only access points near by are for hotels and are locked. Someone needs to be coming in or out. The walk is also a little long if you are taking a lot down to the beach (umbrella, chairs, cooler..etc). The drive to the public parking lot is short and sweet and worked much better. Plus the beach was a little less crowded there. Wonderful time and spacious house!

Beach Wedding

We recently came to Okaloosa Island for my niece's wedding on the beach and found this beautiful home nearby. Others in our group rented condos which were very nice, but none offered the security of the garage or the privacy and comfort of a home which is exactly how this properety made us feel - like coming home. The neighbors are irreplaceable friends. The small private pool was great as we have a teenage girl who would need "guarding" at a public pool. The alarm on the door was a good idea for the 14 month baby & 10 year old boy. Being able to cook in the well-furnished kitchen saved money as we didn't always have to eat out. I usually don't sleep well in a different bed but these were comfy. The kids enjoyed the toybox. It's located close to everything: Nearby Henderson State Park has bathrooms, showers, picnic areas & a clean beach. Angler's had the best key lime pie. We got beautiful pictures on the sunset dolphin cruise. Getting to come "home" each night to relax was wonderful!

Great Time at Raven's Nest

We stayed at the Raven's Nest April 14-17, 2009. What a nice place! The home is laid out so well and furnished beautifully. The small pool in the back yard was nicely heated and very private. The neighborhood was quiet and well-maintained, yet only a short block to the beach. There are tons of good restaurants and shopping centers within a couple square miles. We have a 7-year-old with special needs, so a house works much better for us on vacation than a hotel room or condo does. Raven's Nest was perfect for us. Our daughter felt very comfortable there and especially enjoyed the pool. We will definitely be returning! P.S. For anyone staying here, remember to keep a key in the front door lockbox at all times. We locked ourselves out by the pool one day and had all the keys inside the house! Luckily, we were able to reach the property manager, who came over and let us in (and was unbelievably nice about it, too!). Lesson learned!

Raven's Nest was an all around wonderful experience. The best equipped vacation home we have ever rented. Would recommend this property to everyone. Beaches are a very short walk away, yet the surf could be heard out back most nights as if it was on the property. Thank you Mary Hoffman for a delightful stay in your beautiful home.

We went with our children and grandchildren. Since there was a pool, I was very happy to see the alarms on the doors and windows to alert when doors or windows are opened. The house was very nice, very clean and had everything we needed for the beach. Also, there was a beautiful gift basket waiting for us when we arrived!

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your vacation home!! We had such a great time we didn't want to leave today. We had 6 adults and 5 children and had plenty of room. Your home is beautiful!! We really enjoyed the swimming pool. We used it everyday. We really enjoyed being close to everything, the beach, Wal-mart, lots of dinning, and entrainment for the kids. My husband and I even found a massage parlor, which was awesome!!! I wanted to let you know that we broke one glass and a bowl. We hope to come back soon!

7/23/08 Steele It was great!!!!!The house plan was exceptional. It allows everyone privacy. I really liked the sitting area. You house inspired me to do some redecorating at home. Having the beach chairs, sandcastle molds, and umbrella was a great idea. I will know to pack less next time. I loved walking down to the beach. You have a beautiful family and house thanks for sharing with me and my family!!
