Description of the Destin vacation home rental
New 4 bdrm House in gated beach community with private backyard pool, large patio with gas grill, beach just 1500 feet away. Split bdrm design offers 2 king bdrms with complete privacy for 2 couples or is perfect for 2 families (2 additional bdrms for the kids). Tempur-pedic and memory foam mattresses on king and queen beds, pillow top on twins, Pack & Play, highchair and a removable bed railing for small child. Large open great room with vaulted ceilings, plant shelves. Why stay in a cramped condo and share a pool with strangers when you can have the privacy and convenience of your own home with backyard pool! All new furniture, fully equipped kitchen with Granite countertop and Stainless appliances, separate utility room with full size W/D, Gas Grill on patio, 2 car garage with key pad entry so everyone can come and go without keys. Great Room has 37 inch LCD HDTV, DVD,stereo CD shelf system. For children's safety, house has alarms on all doors and windows leading to pool deck, plus second deadbolt up high where kids can't reach. House is approximately 2 blocks (1500 feet)from beach. Walk to our private beach access (see picture)or drive 1/4 mile east to beach parking by Pompano Joe's, beach restrooms and the new handicap beach access. Shower and foot wash available beside beach restrooms. Centrally located to everything in the Destin area: Silver Sands Outlet Mall, Destin Commons Mall, Marina, Harborwalk Village, Baytowne Wharf, Grand Boulevard and wonderful restaurants.
Area Information
Destin is essentially an island with gorgeous white sand beaches on the south and the Bay on the north (see aerial photo). It has easy access to deep sea fishing and wonderful seafood shops in case you want to cook on the gas grill. The kids will love Big Kahuna Water Park, race cars, para-sailing, kite-boarding, or best of all, playing on the beautiful white sand beach. Destin has something for everyone!

Perfect get away

My two boys and I needed a beach vacation and Florida was the spot of choice. We had not heard of Destin before but the pictures of the beach and sand drew me in. I found Sherry and Mike's place and booked it. Booking (payment arrangements, if needed) made it easy to afford to vacation. The house was perfectly set far enough from the ocean to get away from any ocean wind but close enough to pack a cooler for the day and walk up to it. This is the most beautiful beach and ocean I have yet to see and I've been to some beautiful beaches outside of the states. Sherry was more than perfect with communication. She cares and desires for her guests to enjoy their time at her home. The house was exactly what the pictures show but now with tile flooring which is nice after a day at the beach. We will go back again, for sure!!! In fact, I am still missing that beach as I type this...the best location - family beach - I've seen.

Amazing Vacation

Great home, comfortable beds, good showers, convenient location and amenities. We spent one week in this home with 8 of us plenty of room. The location was great. The house was like being at home. The pool in the backyard kept the adults and kids happy when we were not at the beach (heated would have been extra nice in the evenings). We visited the beach everyday and it was great. I will recommend this rental to my friends and family. Sherry was very freindly and amazing to talk with.

Refreshing Haven

Mike and Sherry have thought of everything! Their lovely home included little touches like a memory foam mattress and tvs and dvd players in every room. The beautifully landscaped backyard and refreshing pool were such a blessing to myself and my 5 children. I had coffee on the back patio every morning before heading off to work. My husband and father had all the space they needed to relax and get away. I had to work everyday, but came home to such a peaceful, relaxing home. The internet pictures, beautiful as they are, do not do it justice. The finishes and furnishings are all quality. The furniture is sturdy, and the kitchen has everything you need--we cooked and ate ALL our meals in. The beach was so close that we could walk to it everyday. The water was truly a crystal green and the sand unbelievably white and powdery--and so clean. Communication was FANTASTIC, with Mike and Sherry going out of their way to make sure we had our needs met and got answers to any questions right away. We extended our stay an extra day. Our family would like to return again! It was such a pleasure.

Perfect Beach Destination

We absolutely loved the Destin Beach Area! It was one of the nicest, most relaxing beach vacations we have ever had! Mike and Sherry Oxner have an absolutely wonderful home, equipped with everything you could possibly want. The house is clean, open and airy :) The pool and backyard area are amazing. Also, Sherry was wonderful to work with. She updated me with driving directions, restaurants and everything we might want to do in the area! She was also gracious enough to provide me personal cell phone numbers in case we needed anything. We really couldn't have been more pleased with the home and the area!

Our stay at the Oxner's home was all we hoped it to be. One thing we liked was the neighborhood. It was quiet and everyone was so friendly. My husband and I would take morning walks and every person we ran into always greeted us. The house is beautiful and is equipped with anything you would need. We loved that it had it's own private pool. The ocean was just a few steps away. The Oxner's are very kind and right there if you have a question or need anything. They were very helpful when booking our stay. Our family will definitely stay there again in the future!! We had an amazing spring break in Destin! :) If you are looking for a place to stay for vacation in Destin, I highly recommend this house!!!! :) You will be pleased!! :)

If you are looking for a relaxing beach vacation with all of the amenities of home then you have to rent this property. We are already talking about booking it again for next summer. The house is lovely and having the luxury of a private pool right outside just made everything more tranquil. The beautiful Destin beach is only about a block or so away from the house but at the same time you feel secluded from all of the tourist action (which we loved.) You are also close to town and all of the restaurants and shopping. The decor is very nice and not the typical “over the top” beach decorations and everything is kept very clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable and the showers had good water pressure, which might sound silly, but really matter to me and my family. The owners of this property are wonderful to work with and stay in contact to make sure that you have everything you need, it really makes you feel like you are part of the family instead of a renter!

A TASTE OF HEAVEN on EARTH

Our family thouroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. From the time we made our reservations clear through the vacation stay, we had constant contact with the owner with updates of what to expect and things to do in the area. Sherry is SUPERB!! This home is in a perfect location - the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and the house is kept meticulously clean. Of course, we especially enjoyed our stroll to the nearby beach. If you visit here you must stroll the beach after dark and experience the sand crabs coming in with the tide. We also enjoyed swimming in the pool after a long hot day. It is absolutely beautiful here and a great place for families to just have fun!! I recommend this for anyone who wants to get away from it all and have a taste of Heaven on earth. There are a lot of activities to be enjoyed in the area and many places to eat and shop. One of our favorite excursions was a deep sea fishing expedition aboard the Destin Princess. Thank you, Sherry and Mike, for a wonderful place to stay during our vacation as well as for all of the friendly e-mails. We will definitely keep you in mind for further get aways!

Destin is our vacation location of choice now! This house was perfect for our family. Enjoyed the private pool and very comfortable beds. The kids LOVED that every bedroom had a tv. This property is truly a home away from home. It is beautifully decorated, well-appointed, big enough for 10 and it's in a perfect location. The neighborhood is quiet and serene, the beach is right across the street and there are plenty of great restaurants and nightlife nearby. I plan to stay there again on my next trip to Destin and would highly recommend this property.
