Description of the Destin vacation home rental
You’ll have a spacious back yard, fenced for privacy and security, with tropical landscaping and your own swimming pool, the largest in the neighborhood. The pool is "L-shaped," 28'1/2 feet long by 9-13 feet wide. Best of all, the pool is all yours – no sharing with the neighborhood or a condo association. Perhaps you are back from an afternoon at the beach, or it’s after dinner – the pool is a great place for the kids (and adults) to enjoy themselves without the need to organize an expedition other than out your back door. You’ll enjoy the patio with picnic table and large gas grill.
For your convenience, the Pelican has beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach towels and a wagon to transport them to the beach. If you wish, you can rent a street legal electric golf cart. It’s a great way to tote people and supplies to and from the beach. We recommend Destin Golf Cart Rentals. (Search the web for them, this site won't allow links.)
The home is on a quiet street in a private gated community, near the beach.
This beautiful home with its nautical décor is perfect for large families or groups. You have room to stretch out – 2020 sq. feet (largest floor plan in the neighborhood) -- with large living/dining room, four bedrooms and two baths, a spacious family room, full kitchen with a breakfast bar seating six plus everything you need for housekeeping and a full laundry room. Everything is on one floor, so there are no stairs to contend with.
The spacious Master bedroom features a king size bed for sleeping comfort, TV/VCR/DVD, a private bath with double sinks, large soaker tub & shower and a huge walk-in closet. The Kahuna and Palm Bedrooms both have queen beds, TV/VCR and alarm clocks just in case you don't want to sleep in some morning. The Twin bedroom features two twin beds and TV/VCR. All bedrooms have a ceiling fan. There are queen sleeper sofas in separate living and family rooms. We have a portable crib and single rollaway bed available.
Small pets are welcome at Pelican’s Elbow, so they can also enjoy the family vacation.
The white-sugar-sand beach is a short stroll away and dining, shopping and amusements are close at hand. You can swim with dolphins, cruise the Gulf, parasail, kayak or partake in any of dozens of other nearby activities.
At the end of a great day in the sun, you can enjoy the family room with high-definition TV, VCR/DVD and a selection of books, videos and family games. Free high-speed Internet is provided.
Kick back, soak up some sun and work on your tan (or lounge in the shade) and enjoy life at the Pelican's Elbow.

Other activities include hiking/walking (Gulf-front state park nearby), biking, miniature golf, gym, tennis, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, museums, zoo, restaurants, cinemas and scooter & electric vehicle rentals.
There is a beach service on our beach that offers rentals of sturdy beach
chairs & umbrellas, canopies, cabanas, kayaks and paddle boards.
Big Kahuna's is a waterpark with a mini-golf course, The Track has several go-cart tracks, kiddie rides and other amusements, and kids will like Big Daddy's with it's coin-operated amusement games and pizza.
The Destin area is home to a dozen fine golf courses available to the public. There are nearby state forests with biking trails and bike, kayak and canoe rentals. Destin is close to deep water, boasting a large fleet of charter fishing boats and day boats for the finest in deep-sea fishing.

Baytowne Wharf, about 5 miles from the house, is a family fun spot with restaurants, boutiques, nightclubs, amusements, a kid's playground and fireworks several nights a week during the summer.
The area is full of restaurants, from Micky D's to fine dining. Lots of pizza, sushi, oyster bars and seafood.

Roomy with plenty to do.

We had a great time at the Pelicans Elbow. The house had plenty of room for our group of 12 with 4 of the group being under 4 years old. The were a nice number of miscellaneous beach toys for all the kids to utilize. Beaches are a 5 minute walk and several resturants are equally as close. It's a 10 minute drive to the harborwalk village where there are many activities. I really enjoyed the stay.

We rented this property with my sister and her family. We had plenty of room for both families to spread out and enjoy. Our first day the weather was rainy so we spent the day in the house and were delighted to find videos and games and plenty of room. Everything is well kept and Ron (the owner) was available throughout the stay if we needed him. Kitchen was well-stocked and house was ready to just "move in" when we arrived. Pool was nice to have after a day at the ocean, kids enjoyed many hours in it. Pelican's Elbow was a very nice house and we enjoyed our vacation very much in it.

I stayed Pelican's Elbow during Thanksgiving weekends with my friend's families. We all were very happy with this house. We were close to the beach and the beach was very beautiful with white find sands. The neighborhood was very safe. We enjoyed sea foods from a market. It was great. Our kids enjoyed the children's video. I will looking forward to returing here.

We have never rented a house for a vacation and after staying here, we will have to think twice about ever renting a hotel room! The house was impecable and comfortable. Mr. Larsen was professional, quick to respond to our needs, and courteous. We were close to the beach, mall, and restaurants. the neighborhood was quiet and safe. We loved the pool. There was plenty of room for privacy and close enough for togetherness. Our daughter loved the house (and the children's videos), the grandparents were comfortable, my sister in law had her space, we never ran out of hot water, and we had a memorable vacation! When we come to the beach, we will definitely be coming back to this house!

My wife and I are from Niagara Falls,Ontario. We booked our vacation online with our host Ron. Our business with him has been handled in a very reliable and satisfactory manner. He met as at the home and provided us with all of the house details needed for our stay. We have had a very nice relaxing time and have enjoyed our stay in Destin. Everything about the property feels like home to us. The rental was very reasonably priced, the house is well equipped, clean, and situated in a quiet, safe area close to all amenities. Our stay was great. This was truly a home away from home. Everything we needed and more. After a long day at the beach it was so nice to come back to a nice comfortable place. So much better than a hotel. There was plenty of room to spread out and relax. A fully equipped kitchen for a good home cooked meal. Aswell as a great pool, since the kids could never get enough of the water. Having a washer and dryer allowed us to keep from traveling home with dirty laundry. This home was truly the icing on the cake for our great trip to Destin.
