Description of the Dingle vacation townhouse rental

This detached house is situated in the townland of Ballywiheen, Ballyferriter, Co Kerry.

The living accommodation comprises 2,300 square feet comprising four bedrooms, master bedroom on suite with walk-in-wardrobe, a second bathroom (bath/shower), a lounge diner and a well equipped kitchen and utility room. There is a games room upstairs with pool , and tv suitable for playstation.. The house has two patio areas with panoramic views of Ballydavid / Smerwick Harbour, and Mount Brandon.

All services are provided and there is a washing machine and dryer in the utility. Sattelite tv available. A dvd is provided as well as linen, pots, pans, cutlery etc. Broadband Access can also be provided to allow easy Internet Access, if required. You can keep in touch with the outside world and still enjoy the beauty that surrounds you...the best of both worlds!

The house is 2 miles from Ventry and 2 Miles from the village of Ballyferriter. Beachs nearby include Ventry, Beal Ban, Coumenoule. Blue Flag beaches abound.

Dingle Links Golf Course is 10 minutes drive from the house. One of the foremost links course in the West of Ireland. Contact dinglelinks to book your tee-times, ask for Steve and tell him Frank sent you.

If you are fit, climb Mount Brandon and enjoy the exercise and great scenery. Take a brisk 20 minute across the maimin to Ballyferriter and enjoy a pint in the calm surrounding that is Ballyferriter Village.

Take a walk to Ventry village 25 minutes away or just cycle around Slea Head and soak up the spirit of the place.

At least 6 top quality restaurants are within 10 minutes drive. A reliable taxi service is available nearby.

Historic sites abound with Gallarus and Riasc. Cycling, horse riding, fishing, either deep sea, boat or shore angling. Magnificent walks over the Closach and around Slea Head. A visit to the Blasket Islands from Dunquin Pier is a special treat. For the more adventurous, a climb on Mount Brandon or a sea trip to Skellig Rock awaits.

Delightful Views

The home of Monica and Nielus Horgan was beautiful.The house was well-appointed with comfortable beds, sofas and chairs in the living room and the conservatory. The kitchen was small, but efficient and easy to prepare meals. The views from the conservatory/home were spectacular. The location of the house was convenient to Dingle and many other great areas and sites. The owners were wonderful to work with when we first booked. They were warm and welcoming when we arrived and were willing to help us in anyway they could. They provided local cell phones from their children for our use (we paid for the minutes, etc.), but this was above and beyond the normal service one would expect from a rental. They checked with us from time-to-time as to any needs we may require which was an awelcome gesture. They had many suggestions for dining, tours, etc. The only negative was they did not have a telephone in the cottage or an internet connection. We suggested they consider the internet connection (we actually provided some information from a local purveyor of internet connections to them). In this day and age of communications and in our case my husband's mother is quite ill and it would have been helpfult to be able to contact the facility in which she resides other than by int'l tel. Having said this, there was a post office nearby, but it is a hassle to take the laptop their every day. There is also 2 internet cafe's in Dingle. This is a great rental.

I should have written to you a long time ago to say THANK YOU! We had a fabulous time in Ireland. Your home is beautiful, clean, spacious and well appointed. We had so much fun there. We had a group of eight family members ranging in age from 9 to 84. Everyone was happy. We found unbelievable places of breathtaking natural beauty very near the house. We had lots of fun shopping and singing in the pubs of Dingle and Bally Ferriter. The people were warm, friendly and helpful. We took lots of day trips to explore the beauty of Kerry. Our 12 day stay gave us 11 with blue sky and beautiful sunshine! We truly feel blessed. Would love to return.
