Best vacation ever!!!!

My wife and son share my view of this most enjoyable and restful vacation we have ever had. The house was very well equipped and the views were outstanding. We were worried prior to our arrival about the lack of a satellite for television and the possibility of no cell service. There was an extinsive selection of movies there to watch and our verizon cell service worked great. The filtered water was also an added plus!!! We have visited many beaches but the shells we found here were among the biggest we have ever seen. Beautiful! We snorkeled and we're able see an abundance of starfish, electric sting rays, sand sharks, dolphins , and numerous species of fish. The surf fishing was great and the shark fishing at night was very exciting. Even though we visited on a holiday week, there were many times where we were the only people on the beach. We appreciate the opportunity to rent the Dream Weaver and hope to visit again soon.

A Must to See and Do

My wife and I have had the opportunity to visit many beaches but after our first trip to Dog Island and Dream Weaver it has went straight to the top. Dream Weaver was everything and more than we were hoping for. The home is painted white inside with dark hardwood floors. The water system was great. Just like drinking spring water. We used the outdoor shower the whole week. Found more shells than ever. The home is right on the beach and we went down to the end of the board walk every night and would set and look at the moon and the stars. Rusty, the boat captain, took very good care us of. It was a pleasure to stay at Dream Weaver and Mr. Lee was great to work with. We can't wait to make plans to return, It was the most relaxing week of vacation my wife and I have ever enjoyed. If you love the beach, peace, and quiet Dog Island and Dream Weaver is a must!

Fantastic Secluded Beach Home!

Dream Weaver is situated directly on the gulf side of Dog Island. Just a few steps to the beach. The home has everything needed for a great vacation. Plenty of dishes, utensils, beach toys, games, books, etc. The home is very comfortable, and is well maintained. The real attraction is the beach. And the solitude. During our week stay, we encountered very few people. On a four mile walk, we did not see another person. Incredible. Both the gulf and bay sides of the island are beautiful. Star gazing on the beach was unbelievable. We will be back for sure.

Owner's reply:

Chris,
Thanks for the kind words. We know the uniqueness of Dog Island is like a step back in time.

unbelivable

Dog Island is a place that struggle with yourself to tell anyone or keep it a secret. It is a place that you could imagine of what Florida beaches was before condos and high rises. It is a place here the main attraction is natural beauty of nature. If your into seeing a natural beauty at the beach you may want to bring them because you may not see anyone else. As for the property it was beautiful and stocked with anything you may need and want. Getting gas for the car kind of of sketchy but worked out. Over all a amazing adventure and experience

Escape to paradise!

This was far the best family vacation my family has experienced. From the fun boat ride to the island, to the beautiful home directly on the beach and all the amazing creatures, it was an experience my family will never forget. It is a wonderful place to go and just escape from the "real world"...the beautiful house was easy to find and the boat ride to and from the island was easy to coordinate. We plan on returning again very soon, thanks again to Richard Lee for letting us experience a one of a kind vacation.

Hidden Jewel

Great house ,direct water front truly a diamond in the rough. Loved the idea of getting our supplies over by boat. Beaches are clean and beautiful. If you are looking for nite life and resturant this is not for you. But for total relaxation on ,what we felt like a private island. give it a try.Everyone that we made contact with were so nice.

Most relaxing vacation ever

The Dream Weaver is a great place to stay. There were a couple things in the house that did not work but the Lee's notified us and it was no big deal at all. The filtered drinking was wonderful and having the ocean as a backyard was fantastic. For those who have AT&T you do get cell service on the island if you want to get away but not completely. All in all it was a wonderful experience. Thanks to the Lee's and the Vose's.

Richard Lee

Owner's reply:

Maria, I'm glad you had a good time! We are continually improving as you will see when you come back.

Looking to get away from it all? This is it!

Dog Island is a really neat place! The house itself is nice, but the main attraction is the beach that you have almost completely to yourself. We used Dick Vose for transportation from Carabelle to the island, and would recommend him. We do wish the owner had given us more detailed instructions such as: make/model/color of car we were to use, exact directions on how to drive to the house from the dock. Also, make sure to bring drinking water (the water is actually sulfur, with a little water mixed in =) and toilet paper, just in case. The recycling bin and dumpster are on the west side of the dock road, just a couple 100 meters south of the dock. The beach is awesome. We walked down to the west end of the island and saw several huge sting rays in the water and sea turtle tracks and nests. We easily caught enough fish and crabs for a couple meals, and the beachcombing was great. We wished we could have stayed longer, and we definitely plan to return!

Richard Lee

Owner's reply:

Anna, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We are constantly making improvements and will have a filtration system for drinking water in place soon.

An Awesome Experience!

Consider yourself lucky if you get to stay at Dreamweaver. It is a beautiful oceanfront property directly on the beach. The island is pristine and magically beautiful with many species of birds and huge seashells.. The owner Richard was very hospitable as was Vicky Vose who transported us to and from the town dock. The house is without internet and TV reception (like many homes on Dog Island), but there was a VCR with plenty of movies to choose from. The kitchen is large and well equipped and there's a big deck that we enjoyed sitting out on day and night. The shower wasn't as hot as we are used to but that wouldn't stop us from returning to this awesome home. I loved Dreamweaver and I hope to return someday.

The PERFECT place to ESCAPE!!!

We apologize for the delay in review. We were so sad over having to come home that it was actually rather hard to come back to this site. If I could turn back time...I would. Dog Island and the Lees' home are AMAZING! This is definitely one of the most beautiful and accomodating homes on the island. The views from the windows of the home and from the wrap-around deck are phenomenal, and, when they say you are "on the beach," you really are literally "ON THE BEACH!" We had near total privacy for the entire week, as if we owned the house AND the beach. We could feel a sense of love and family in the home which made our stay sheer comfort. The sea life, vegetation, beach, ocean, and birds are beyond description. At night, we even viewed the milky way with our naked eyes so clearly that it seemed we could reach out and touch it! You can watch the sun both set AND rise from the island, and it is very, VERY beautiful. Everything is peaceful, clean, relaxing, and just downright paradise! Thank you for a one-of-a-kind vacation that will never be forgotten. Hopefully we will make it back to the island again soon. We sure do miss it. P.S. Special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Vose for their hospitality. If any of you readers get a chance to indulge in a vacation on Dog Island, please give them a call for charter boat service. They're the BEST! :)
