Luxury? Adventure? Paradise
Mareas Villa offers a unique vacation experience combining jungle adventure with upscale luxury accommodations. The Villa compound is isolated and private, set on 36 acres of virgin rainforest. Your exclusive use of the property includes a stream, two waterfalls, several hiking trails and vista views of the jungle and ocean. Nestled on a ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Villa is a tranquil and private retreat. Truly experience the rainforest; the Villa’s setting invites local animals such as toucans, monkeys, bright blue butterflies, multi-colored frogs, and from the terrace you may see breaching whales.
Mareas is five minutes from the beach and a short drive from some of the most outstanding restaurants in Costa Rica. Many adventure outings are offered locally.
The Villa has three separate buildings, two sleeping cabinas and an entertainment area. Each bedroom suite has it’s own bath, terrace and garden. The entertainment area includes a modern kitchen, bar, living room, two dining areas, covered patio, salt water infinity pool, Jacuzzi, BBQ patio, viewing terrace and poolside waterfall. The Villa is over 18,000 sq. ft. providing ample space for a crowd.
You don’t have to travel far within the country to experience a different and unique ecosystem: mountains over 12,000 feet; active volcanoes, cloud and rain forests, waterfalls and tropical jungles
banana, sugar, pineapple, coffee, cacao and papaya plantations
mangrove forest, coastal swamps, and beaches
marine environments that support a variety of waterfowl, fish and crustaceans
Approximately 30 percent of Costa Rica is protected as national parks, biological and archeological reserves, and wildlife refuges.
Mareas is located in "Playa Hermosa", on the southern Pacific side of Costa Rica, known as “Costa Ballena”. We are 10 miles south of a small town named Dominical and 3 miles north of Uvita, home of the "Whales Tail" reef.

Unbelievably beautiful, with amazing views of the ocean, and the surrounding jungle. My husband and I had one of the most, if not the most wonderful vacations of our life. The rooms are very nicely decorated which only added to the great view from what felt like our own private paradise. While at the Mareas, we did enjoy wonderful food prepared by Tim on several of the days of our stay. The food was very good, and recommended if there is ever a day when you just want to hang around the resort and enjoy the pool and accommodations. The resort has several walking trails leading to beautiful waterfalls, which Tim was kind enough to escort us on. We did also enjoy several off site excursions through Rancho DiAndrew which are highly recommended. We also enjoyed canopy top zip lining and a jungle boat tour which were recommended by Tim, and also very enjoyable. Whether you are needing to get away for a relaxing vacation, are looking for an excursion filled vacation, or a combination of the two...you will not be disappointed!

An absolutely AMAZING place to stay! My girlfriend and I went with 6 other couples to Mareas for a well needed vacation. This place is incredible from the point you enter the property through the beautiful gate. The property is wonderful with multiple trails that lead to waterfalls, monkeys and other treasures in the jungle. The ocean views are to die for while relaxing in the infinity edge pool. All of the accomodations exceeded our expectations. The rooms are large and comfortable. The outdoor shower is spectacular! We had several meals prepared onsite that were wonderful. This place offered anything you wanted from just a relaxing morning of listening and taking in all of the beauty, to getting on your hiking shoes and hitting the trails. It was all wonderful and I will never forget the experience Mareas allowed us to have! Brian & Pam

We stayed here for seven days and really enjoyed it. There were 7 couples, plenty room to be together or have your own privacy. The resort is clean well kept and comfortable, you will not be disappointed. You need a 4 wheel drive to make it an easy trip but well worth it. No TV's or phones but you dont miss any of that believe me. The WiFi works on most of the property for your laptop and phone. Go try it enjoy it and relax or it's a very easy location to be as active as you want. Ask for Andrew to plan some trips for you he is the best. The weather was great also no rain during the day and light rain at night.

We recently spent 7 days at Mareas and we had the time of our lives. We were there to celebrate the birthdays of my wife and those of several of our friends wives. The facility and grounds exceeded my expectations in ways that words cannot describe. We had several meals prepared by the proprietor which were both delicious and timely. The resort recommended the services of Rancho DiAndrew to assist us with bar keeping and local tours and we could not have been more pleased with everything that was provided. The rooms were luxurious to say the least and cleaned daily. As far as access is concerned, it is Costa Rica and once you get off of the main highway everything is dirt road. With that comes some expected roughness but nothing the vehicles that the resort recommended we rent did not easily navigate and accomodate. We also hired masuesses to visit the resort to provide massages for us and they were fantastic. Imagine the tranquility and relaxation of a massage overlooking the beauty of the Costa Rican jungle and pacific ocean - AMAZING!!! If you are looking for a luxurious secluded getaway to an exotic jungle with a panaoramic ocean vew - look no further. This place far exceeds the any expectation this travel ever had about this destination!
