Spectacular Ocean and Sound views await you in this charming waterside vacation get-a-way in Duck. Located on a quiet cul-de-sac and only steps from the Currituck Sound, "Life's A Joy!" is perched on one of the highest dunes in the area offering breathtaking ocean and sound views. Your own pool, which can be heated in the off season, features whirlpool jets and color changing lights that will refresh and delight the whole family. Just a stroll up the road is the picturesque coastal village of Duck, a shopper's paradise featuring many one-of-kind stores, boutiques, and exceptional waterfront restaurants.

L2: 3 BR (1 w/Q, 1 w/Ts, 1 w/2 bunks sets), full bath. All BRs have TV/DVD/VCR combos. Large covered deck w/ swing, chairs, & hammock. Nice views of sound & pool.

L3:MBR (w/Q), vaulted ceiling, flat screen TV, and private sundeck overlooking sound and pool; full bath, kitchen w/ new stainless steel appliances, vaulted dining room w/ocean views, vaulted great room with hardwood floors, fireplace, 55" widescreen HDTV w/DVD/VCR combo. Tiled sunroom with dramatic views of sound; large sun deck with panoramic ocean, sound & pool views. Home is air conditioned.

Additional amenties include: 6 Bikes (adult & child), board games, large movie library, Nintendo, Vegas style slot machine, pack'n play crib, basketball goal, new gas grill, outdoor hot shower with changing area, fish station, & crab traps.

New for 2008 season! Sheets and bath towels are included at no additional charge! Your beds will be made and ready for you on arrival!

The picturesque resort of Duck has a split personality. On one hand it's a sleepy hamlet ideal for families craving a quiet beach vacation. Delightful cottages fill the village from sea to sound; there are no hotels and only one B & B. Duck's lively side also boasts activities galore. The soundside waterfront area features parasailing, kayak and jet ski rentals, plus sailing and windsurfing outfitters. The bike path running the length of the village is traveled with early morning exercisers, tots on bikes and inline skaters. The entire area is a fisherman's paradise from convenient shoreline fishing to full day ocean excursions out to the Gulf Stream for the really big ones. Take in some serious crabbing from the sound pier adjacent to your home, visit the famous Cape Hatteras Lighthouse or see the site of the Wright brothers first flight. You may want to take in the Lost Colony outdoor drama under the stars. You can set off in search of the wild Spanish mustangs of Corolla sometimes spotted frolicking on the shore or maybe take the free ferry to Ocracoke Island to hunt down Blackbeard's pirates. Here on the Outer Banks, there's something to do for everyone. Or if you prefer, do nothing at all but kick back, relax and enjoy that glorious Outer Banks sunset!

We thought it was great that there were tons of patio furniture. We could all sit at the pool & relax or have dinner, sit on the upstairs rockers & picnic table for coffee in the morning, etc! Thank-you for all your help in making our vacation such a success! Courtney Schroeder

A huge thank you for providing such a wonderful place for us to spend our family vacation. The house was absolutely perfect - we had plenty of space, and everyone fully enjoyed all decks and the pool. It was really a perfect place for everyone, and we wanted you to know how much we appreciated it really fitting all of our needs (close to Duck, beach, pool, etc).
