Description of the Durango vacation condo rental

Enjoy your vacation in one or both or our attached Rocky Mountain Condos. Our main unit sleeps six, two in the loft, two in a murphy bed and two is and inner-spring sofa bed. The unit has a front and rear porch with the rear porch on the 5th tee box of the renowned Cliffs Golf Course at the Glacier Club and has a spectacular view of the mountains. It has a full bath and full kitchen.

The upper unit is a very large studio with a full bath and ¾ kitchen (microwave oven). Both units have TV’s, DVD’s, and phones. The units can be rented separately or together. They each have their own private entrance but are behind a Common security door. When we have the family there we just keep the inner doors open or unlocked.

Last summer we completed a total exterior remodel on the exterior of the whole complex and an interior remodel, with new furniture, kitchen and appliances, floors in the main unit, stereo with Ipod dock and an LCD TV.

Area Description

One half mile away is the lodge at Tamarron with a beautiful indoor/outdoor pool three floors above the ground. There is also a full gym with the latest workout machines and TV’s. There is a steam room and a dry sauna in each of the men’s and women’s locker rooms. Use of these facilities is included in the rental fee. Also there is a spa with a staff of great masseuses onboard.

Also in the lodge is the locally famous Hamilton Chop House serving prime cuts (try the 32 oz. bone in ribeye) with a great wine list. There is also a beautiful full service bar with 30 foot high window looking out at the mountains.
Up the road seven miles is Durango Ski Mountain (formerly Purgatory Ski Resort now closer to heaven) with no crowds, high speed chairs, groomed runs and all the other amenities you’d expect of the 24th highest rated ski resort in North America. Further up the road in Silverton is Silverton Mountain with expert slopes only and all skiers must go with a guide. The back country here is truly some of the most beautiful in the world and is easily accessible by two wheel drive, four wheel drive, foot or bike. It’s a true outdoor person’s paradise.
Thirty miles up the road is Silverton, an old Wild West mining town that has turned into a tourist haven. You can get there buy car or by taking The Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge RxR. Also on the way you can deboard the train and go Zip Lining. One mile behind our property is the only scheduled mid way stop at the Rockwood Station. Beyond Silverton is Ouray (little Switzerland) and Telluride.

Down the road seventeen miles is Durango with restaurants, theaters, shopping, and fishing, rafting and even a Home Depot and Kmart. A few miles west of Durango is Mesa Verde National Park. This is truly one of the most beautiful areas in the world and we know you’ll enjoy it.

Beautiful hikes in stunning mountains. Good fishing. Great off road cycling, one is 23 miles down hill (1 mile up) at top of ski resort. Great Pizza at Old School House. Snowbikes for those skiers with bad knees. Gliders down the road 8 miles. NO CROWDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
