Description of the Durham vacation home rental

Enjoy the country hospitality of The Gallery Inn - located in the lovely historic village of Durham Circa 1740. Ideal for families, artists, winter sport enthusiasts, or summer adventurers.

The house is furnished with fine antiques and original art works(Art gallery on premises). Tuned baby grand piano and library add to the beauty of the house. Great picnic and barbecue place. Available all year round (rates depending on holidays and amount of people)

Area Information

The Catskill Mountains offer entertainment and adventure for all four seasons: Nearby attractions include; Windham (20 mins) and Hunter Mountains (~30 mins), Horseback riding, fresh seasonal fruit picking (great apples in the fall and many more berries and other fruit during the summer fruit seasons), NYS power authority visitor's center (available for fishing), many museums including The Hudson School Olana House, Zoom Flume Water park (5 mins), Natural Stone Bridge and Howe Caverns, Rafting, Spas, Mine Kill State Park/Schoharie Reservoir (with 3 pools on premises and waterfalls), mountain biking, famous auction houses, Irish Museum/fairgrounds, East Durham Irish Market (July - August, antiques, wine tasting, Jewerly & Fine Art, Family Festival and Craft Fair, Ice Cream Day), great golfing, hunting in season, Catskill Game Farm, Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame (~ 1 hour).

Beautiful, clean & spacious

Loved this house. The couple who owns it couldn't be nicer or work harder to ensure your comfort. I was a little worried mailing my check off to one place to stay in another, but they don't live onsite full time. I shouldn't have worried. They make sure someone is there when you are and they work extra hard to ensure your visit is wonderful. Hope to stay with them again some day.

I have rented several houses in this part of NYS and I can say without reservation that this was best house ever! The lovely people who own the property keep it in fantastic condition. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. I hope to be able to rent it again many times over.
