Description of the East Orleans vacation home rental

Availability: For the 2013 season the week of 6/14 to 6/21 is still available at a deep discount. Also the weeks of October except for Columbus Day week-end.

From the spectacular contemporary Cape its just short walk to Nauset Beach. On the way our guests pass over a scenic foot bridge spanning a tidal stream and walk over the dunes to Atlantic. Enjoy the breathtaking views from top deck area. House is perfectly located in private association, exclusive neighborhood along with gravel road & deeded rights for Nauset Beach. House offers cathedral ceiling in living area, screened in porch and loft that leads to upstairs bedrooms, bathroom and deck area. All bedrooms offers silent wall mounted remote control air- conditioner. The property also has high speed internet and Wi Fi for convenience.

Just a short drive to two beautiful fresh water ponds along with soft sand beaches and soothing temperature water off Monument Road. We have beach chairs and lots of beach toys for kids to play with!

Area Information

Finest dining, tennis courts, summer theater, regular golf /miniature golf courses are available in Orleans and the adjoining towns. There are wonderful hiking trails at Pochet Island within short walks distance south of house through RV beach road and also at Nickerson State Park, Fort Hill Park, Audubon Bird Sanctuary in Wellfleet and others. Small kids can romp and splash at protected soft sand beaches at two scenic and quiet fresh water ponds, about 10 minutes' distance by car . A must see - - perhaps reserved for fun on a rainy day – are the Brewster Museum of Natural History and Cape Cod’s National Sea Shore Center in Eastham on Route 6 .Beside the Museum, the Center shows fascinating films of the 14000 years' formation of Cape Cod since the last Ice-Age. Each Museum features hiking trails. About 27 miles away on tip of Cape is highly renowned & historic Provincetown known for whale watching, shopping, eateries and deep-sea fishing. Our golfers will find plenty of courses in Chatham and Harwich. Chatham also features local shops and art galleries, if you are in the mood to explore. Finally, don't miss out on the Orleans local shops and fine art galleries.

Private Beach!!!

The two best things about this property is the close proximity to a private beach and the property itself is private. You don't see your neighbors. This property is part of a home owners association that is why there is a bridge that takes you out to the beach. There are no crowds like at Nauset Beach. The house is open and spacious. There is everything that you probably need in the kitchen for a summer stay. There is a deck and a screened in porch on the first floor and another deck on the second floor. The master is on the first floor and there are two bedrooms upstairs. There is a large living room and a den on the first floor as well as a sittiing room upstairs. So there are lots of places that people can go if they want to be away from others in the house. The kitchen is big enough so that more than one person could work there at the same time. The eating area is adjacent to the kitchen. There are lots of windows so it is bright during the daytime. Also it has great airflow. With the windows open the breeze from the ocean cools the house. Also you can hear the waves of the ocean at night and it is very soothing. The washer and dryer are on the first floor, which is always a plus. The bathroom upstairs is large, but there is just a small stall shower. The bedrooms are all good size. The master bath actually has two sinks, one in the bathroom itself and one in what I would say is a dressing area. This property is well located and just a short ride to Orleans Center. It is actually 1.6 miles from Sundae School, which we did walk there and back one night (house has a flashlight which we used on the return). We are considering staying there again next year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:How close is the ocean?

A:It's an easy five to 10 minute walk, depending on wether or not there are young children along. Before the trees around us grew up we used to be able to see the ocean from our deck. Now only the upstairs has an ocean view.

Q:What are the most fun things to do?

A:Relaxing on the deck, swimming, walks on the beach and on nearby Pochet Island, accessible by walking along the RV road (south), and where it turns left through the dunes to the ocean, you turn right and cross a small bridge. The island is private, but well-behaved visitors are welcome (proclaims a sign past the bridge).

Q:Privacy?

A:Each house in the Association sits on at least 1/2 an acre. We have a good sized lawn and the property is surrounded by trees - very private.
