Relaxing stay and beautiful sunsets!

Nice size house, for a small family. We loved the pond view , the dock, the kayaks and canoes that were on site. We had great weather and really relaxed on the beautiful pond. Close to Schoodic Point, which is a must see anytime we are in Maine. The hot tub was a nice bonus. The 2 mile drive on the very bumpy road definitely was annoying , but once we were on the property we felt like we were camping. Because the house is dog friendly, the throw rugs by the doors were stained and smelled a bit, but that is easily replaceable. The laundry room was a plus, but it too had a very strange smell and we stayed out of there.I would recommend this house to people who really want to get away from phones, internet, cable tv etc and enjoy the great outdoors. The sunsets and views were spectacular!

A Little piece of Heaven

“ Excellent ”

We were looking for privacy and as we drove back the rocky tree line drive we knew we found the right place. First thing was to open the windows and step out to the screened in back porch. The view of the dock and huge lake was magnificent and that night we heard the loons. The cottage was very cozy and had every thing we needed for a very comfortable stay. Distance to all the attactions were withing driving range. When we return to the cottage the light from our porch was very inviting and we felt that this was home away from home. We very much would like to return in the furture.

Cottage #1 sits right at the edge of the pond on two sides. Sit on the deck and enjoy the views across the pond looking toward Sugar and Sparrow Hills or take a relaxing nap in the master bedroom listening to the ripple of the waves as they come to shore just outside the window. Enjoy...

Surprisingly disappointed...

“ Very Good ”
October 4, 2012
This year has been the 6th time my wife and I stayed at the Cry of the loon Cottages within the last 9 years. We usually alternate cottages each year. This year we were in cottage 1. We arrived on September 23rd. To our surprise, we noticed cigarette butts, beer bottle caps, and an occasional beer bottle scattered around the property, plus the ash tray full of cigarette butts on the picnic table. When we entered the cabin, we smelt cigarette smoke. In the past, we knew that smoking in the cabin was not allowed. My wife and I are not cigarette smokers, and don’t like that odder. We also noticed the kitchen rug was dirty? When renting this cabin in the past, the indoor/outdoor rug was spotless. Our first though was we were not walking into the “clean” cabin we use to know. We have two dogs. The reason why we rent these cabins is because they are pet friendly. When entering the cabin, we noticed a white powder spread accost the threshold. We assumed a type of pest control. We were both annoyed with that not knowing if that could be harmful to our dogs? So, after removing to the best of my ability the pest control and spraying a bottle of air freshener around the cabin for a few days, we settled in. Things seemed to be back to normal… until I went to bring our first bag of trash to the outside containers, to find the previous occupants trash was still in the containers. We ended up bringing our trash to the dumpsters as recommended each day. With all the above mentioned “nuisances “aside, we ended up having a great week. How can you not sitting on the deck/dock with the view of the pond and the loons signing in the background.
