Description of the Eastham vacation cottage rental

This bungalow-style cottage is located in the Fort Hill Area of Eastham, a rural district of historic homes and preserved land, overlooks and walking trails owned and managed by the Cape Cod National Seashore. The Cottage shares 1.7 acres at the base of Fort Hill and blends the historic feeling of a 1920s Outer Cape bungalow with many contemporary elements. The open interior space is perfectly suited as a get-away for a couple or individual. Along with being located within the Fort Hill Area of the National Seashore, this property is only a 10 minute walk or short drive to Hemenways Landing '''''' a public boat/kayak landing at Nauset Marsh. The cottage is one mile from the main entrance to The Cape Cod National Seashore and 2 miles from the bay beaches. For shopping conveniences, Orleans is a 2-mile drive and the attractions of Provincetown are only a 25-minute drive.

Area Information

The town of Eastham is located on outer Cape Cod and is steeped in history, having been home to the Nauset Indians who began sharing this land with colonists in 1644. Eastham, known as 'Gateway to the National Seashore'. The National Seashore consists of approximately 27,000 acres of uplands consisting of the area's most beautiful natural surroundings as well as approximately 30 miles of the finest seashore on the Atlantic Coast. Eastham has 2 National Seashore beaches, Coast Guard and Nauset Light.

The fireplace was a definite plus during our stay in Eastham. It was cold, rainy and windy on our first day here which made the fireplace a must after returning from the beach. I loved the kitchen and found the necessary pans and utensils to prepare a meal or two during our stay. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone who loves the Eastham area as much as we do!

Amazing Stay at an Amazing Home

I just wanted to say a quick thanks you for the unbelievable stay we had this past December. The house was perfect, we got plenty of use out of the fireplace and everything was truly in tip top shape. If I had to find a negative comment about the home it would only be a few very minor cob webs in certain areas, and you would really have to look to find them. But really, unbelievable stay in an unbelievable home, at a great price. I would recommend this to anybody.

Beautiful cottage, great locTion

PlacewS nicely furnished, modern,cozy, fairly clean. Location was perfect for us, Fort Hill area and the Nauset Marsh and beaches beautiful. One problem was there was not much headroom in the loft where the bed was, really not something we would like to deal with again. The grill could be cleaner and did not have gas so we did not use it. otherwise, it was a great cottage.

I stayed here with my daughter for the weekend. This cottage has everything, the fireplace and woodwork is beautiful. The shower was a great touch with the warm feel of wood. The weather was windy and rainy so we didn't get to enjoy the porch but will be back to do so. The location is great, close to everything. Would recommend this to anyone.

This was our first trip to the Cape, and we're so glad we chose this place. Amazing views within walking distance, great restaurants, awesome walking and bike trails, and of course beautiful beaches. This cottage was great, and we can't wait to come back.

Very nice cottage, has everything. Only negative is bed is in loft and calls for some acrobatic moves to get into bed, not always easy for people in 60's and beyond

We absolutely loved this cottage and wished we could have stayed for another week, at least. There are so many wonderful spaces to relax--the deck, the porch, the yard. It is in a great area--very quiet but very accessible. The cottage was modern and clean and a joy to live in for the week. The kitchen was a delight and inspired us to cook! We'll be staying here again..and again....

We had a fabulous week in the little contemporary cottage! The cottage is perfectly sited, nicely furnished, open and airy. We sat on the deck in two Adirondack chairs in the morning and evening, listening to the birds and reading. The beach was gorgeous, the air and quiet sublime. It was a great week!

This was one of the nicest places we have stayed on the cape. The cottage has a unique modern design and is very cozy. Location was great, far enough away from the mayhem, but still many things to do in the area. Kitchen was well equipped with modern appliances and pretty much everything you need to cook. Fort Hill area is a great place for a morning walk, many birds and other wildlife present. Take your pick from any of the numerous beaches in the area. I would stay here again and again, I recommend this cottage to all.

This was a rare find for a cottage on the Cape. It's an adorable, traditional cottage in a beautiful quiet/private area on a rolling rural landscape that has a top of the line design and spare no expense interior. The gorgeous stone fireplace was key.
