We had a wonderful time at Heartwood House. The house is close to the village (it took less than ten minutes to walk) and has great views down the sound. Incredible sunsets! Very warm and welcoming and comfortable.

Heartwood House was an excellent choice for this family's gathering to celebrate our Dad's 60th birthday. There was everything we needed-a fully appointed kitchen, beautiful furnishings...even a crib & high chair for the baby. We'll definitely be back!

04/26/04 Our family, including two teenage boys, had a simply fabulous vacation at Heartwood House on Orcas Island. The home is just beautiful,spacious, warm and welcoming. It is obvious that attention has been paid to every detail. It is so comfortable and unpretentious, you feel like you are in your own home. The views are spectacular, and it was an easy walk from the house into the main town. We also enjoyed bike riding, hiking, and kayaking while we were there. We ate out in a number of restaurants, and enjoyed them, although we did cook in the well-stocked kitchen at Heartwood House. And best of all, we loved the Anthony Howe sculpture garden just up the road from Heartwood House - We now have two of Howe's kinetic sculptures in our yard, so we think about our terrific vacation on Orcas every day as we watch the sculptures move and catch the light. We would all go back to Heartwood House in a minute!
