Description of the Edgartown vacation home rental
This charming home is situated in an idyllic private wooded setting on Sengekontacket Pond, one of the largest salt-water ponds on Martha's Vineyard. The deck looks out over Major's Cove to the Audobon Society 1/4 mile across the water and Nantucket Sound a mile away. In the evening, rabbits feed in your back yard. Watch the swans in the water from the living room, with its working fireplace and cathedral ceilings, the dining room, or the kitchen. The home is fully furnished with four bedrooms, three of which have water views. The home sits in an association noted for its quiet, safety, and charm. Bring your sea kayak, windsurfer and fishing pole and use them in the back yard. An additional fresh water pond with a sandy beach for toddlers and tennis courts come with the rental. Bike trails abut the association, leading to the state forest, Edgartown, and Oak Bluffs. Golf is one mile away.
Area Information
The home is comfortably nestled in a small, quiet association with tennis courts. In addition to the saltwater pond that opens to the ocean, the association has a freshwater pond with its sandy beach for toddlers, next to a small clubhouse with ping-pong for rainy days. The association abuts the Edgartown-Oak Bluffs bike path, which lead to a golf course one mile away, as well as the many bike paths in the state forest. Shopping in Edgartown or Oak Bluffs is convenient, three to five miles in either direction. Local merchants will deliver rental kayaks or canoes to our property at a reasonable cost, and you can spend the week on the water off your back yard. For some weeks, we can offer transferrable auto ferry tickets.
