Casa De Riata-A 1950’s hacienda style adobe home located on a segment of the oldest and once the longest road (FM 258) in North America, now the Mission Trail, is your home away from home while visiting El Paso and the surrounding towns rich in history and cultural treasures.

The home is located 10 minutes west from Interstate 10 (Clint exit). Our guests get an opportunity to experience life in smaller agricultural communities known for cotton farming and pecan orchards yet conveniently located to enjoy the larger attractions in El Paso. San Elizario is also home to The Licon Dairy which is famous for it's Asadero (Mexican type cheese). Vistors can enjoy buying fresh dairy products, a petting zoo featuring a variety of exotic animals and a fishing pond.

Casa de Riata is surrounded by other well maintained residences and is within close proximity to the Historic district, grocery and other retail stores and local restaurants.

The town of San Elizario dates back to 1598 and is known for historical events and people such as The First Thanksgiving in 1598, Spanish nobleman and conquistador Don Juan de Onate, The Salt War of 1877, Billy the Kid, the Old El Paso County Jail and the San Elizario Chapel on the Mission Trail. San Elizario has been the location for filming of movies like Fandango, The Hottest State and The Border. Current events include the annual First Thanksgiving Celebration, the beautiful annual Christmas Luminarias exhibit, the Billy the Kid Festival, the San Elizario Ghost tours and the Monthly Art Fairs on the Square.

A 37 mile drive will get you to Hueco Tanks State Park or if you are in the mood for steak a 17 mile drive will get you to the world famous Cattleman's Steakhouse at Indian Cliffs Ranch. Only 15-20 minutes to shopping and dining in El Paso.
