Description of the Elizabethtown vacation cabin rental

A two-story log cabin nestled in the Shawnee Forest in southern Illinois. Located just 3 miles from Garden of the Gods, this cabin is right where you want to be. The cabin features spa quality linens and towels, heating and air conditioning, and is stocked with firewood and campfire chairs for your convenience. The cabin has a full kitchen with a range, refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee pot. We provide all your dishes, pots, pans and even complimentary coffee and tea. There are two full size beds and two twin size beds in the loft and a queen size sleeper sofa on the first floor. The bathroom features an antique claw foot tub/shower to complete the experience. The cabin is equipped with HDTV and a digital antenna. Ask about Archery Lessons from our 4H certified Archery Instructor.

Guests may select one of our traditional log cabins or a captivating tree house. Each of our units offers luxurious amenities in a natural setting and atmosphere that is both relaxing and adventurous. Our tree houses offer everything you need to relax in the tranquil treetops while you sit and watch birds fly through the forest canopy singing their songs. All units have heating and air conditioning, bathrooms, campfire pits, grills and picnic tables. Complimentary coffee and tea, all paper products, salt, pepper and toothpicks provided.

Learn the fundamentals of archery and bow hunting from our 4H certified archery instructor. What a wonderful retreat in a breathe-takingly beautiful area! Our family of six (4 young children) stayed in the larger of the cabins and it was perfect. Our kids ran freely outside and loved the cabin in the evenings. Marty and Elizabeth, and their son, were gracious hosts. They teach archery and gave a lesson to our kids that was more than worth the minimal expense. These cabins are likely to become difficult to book on short notice once the word gets out. For any outdoor enthusiasts this area leaves little to be desired. We recommend the E-Town Fish House in Elizabethtown for those wishing to avoid cooking.....Hadowsky family

I can only echo the rave reviews given here! We two grandmas felt just a little guilty for enjoying this lovely spot without the kids - but enjoy it we did. The only thing I could add would be the wonderfully comfortable beds. They were great to climb into after a rigorous day of hiking. But maybe thats a grandma thing. From the time I made the 1st call to the owners to inquire about their treehouses and cabin, I recieved excellent and quick return calls. This was a trip I had planned for my 10 yr old gr grandson and granddaughter who were visiting from Oregon. I was so excited about this journey and the plans made for great conversation with friends/relatives. (I think everyone thought I was out of my mind.) The treehouse was everything and more than I expected. The whole experience of being in that area was refreshing. The treehouses/cabins were very clean. We also enjoyed the feeling of the tree house slightly swinging. The owners, Marty and Elizabeth were awesome. Very informative; they took time with my visitors to show them extra things. Dogs were loved by all. I can't say enough positive things about the whole set-up. It takes you back to life before the the world became consumed with technology. It would be great for the younger generation and the parents. My husband and I are planning to return and stay in one of the cabins in early October.....Carol, Joliet, IL

When asked where we were going on vacation and I responded "a treehouse" people gave me funny looks. It was a great local get-away! The weather turned rainy and cold but we got a little sunshine on Saturday and still had a great time. Our 7 year old boy enjoyed it so much that he didn't want to leave. Great job on the treehouses. Outdoor fun with modern conveniences. The tree swing was a big hit also! Elizabeth kindly greeted us, showed us around, and told us of local areas to visit. We are a family of 2 adults, 2 kids and a dog. We planned on staying 2 days but never wanted to leave and ended up staying 5 days. We had fun at all of the parks around the area but also just enjoyed being at the treehouse. The kids loved the lab puppies and playing outside in the woods. They still talk about wanting to go back soon. We are already making plans to return this fall.
