Description of the Ellicottville vacation chalet rental

"Rustic sophistication" describes this beautiful Chalet built in 2010, located just outside the village of Ellicottville. The private location, situated on 5 wooded acres makes this the perfect getaway for people who want seclusion yet can get to the village in a few minutes. The Chalet is 2 miles from Holimont ski resort and 4 miles from Holiday valley ski and golf resort. The Chalet has 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths and accommodates up to 12 people. Bedroom number 4 has 2 full beds and a dresser. All bedrooms have closet space and the master bathroom has a jacuzzi. From the stone and cedar exterior to the open beam Hemlock interior, you're sure to enjoy the rustic feel. Fully equipped kitchen, plenty of televisions, rec room, great room and laundry room. The great room has a vaulted ceiling and stone wood burning fireplace.

Please note that four wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended during winter months.

Area Information

Ellicottville, NY is known for great skiing, snow tubing, golfing and its mountain biking trails. The quaint village has charming shops, great restaurants and taverns. The big views of mountains are all around the village. The annual average snowfall is around 350 inches, so if you like snow, Ellicottville has plenty of it! Special weekends like Octoberfest, Jazz festival, Womens weekend, July 4th concerts or even Christmas in the village are amoung some of the events the village has to offer. Its a great place to spend Christmas with the family. Also, the Seneca/Alleghany Casino located about 12 miles south in Salamanca.

Deposits: A 600 dollar deposit per week of stay is required to reserve off season dates. A 700 dollar deposit for peak season. Peak season runs from July 1st - March 31st. Non peak rates are the remaining dates. Both rates are shown in this ad. Longer term rentals are discounted. Call or write for Holiday week rates. You can send deposits with paypal or regular mail. Balance due is expected at time of arrival in the form of cash or money order. *Please note there is a minimum age requirement of 25 years
Payment Options: Money Order, PayPal, Personal Check
Other Fees: We charge $25 per night per person for any more than 10 people staying at the Chalet. We will refund your deposit if your cancellation is 30 days or more prior to your reservations.

Beautiful, quiet, and peaceful home. Very clean modern facility, yet a feel of a cabin. Well equipped kitchen and spacious. The woods around was so enchanting. The hilly surrounding made it perfect for a good run. My husband loved the jacuzzi. I would love to come back again. Frank u have nice place. U are a kind man.

Our Family Ski Trip

I have to say we had a awesome time at the GemStone Chalet. It was exactly what we wanted. From the Rustic Look to the Beautiful Private Tree surrounded Location.The kids tobogganed down the lane way, and some hiked up the hills to built a snow man on the top. We Loved it.!!!! I woke up the one morning to watch the deer eating up the hillside outside my bedroom window. I would say the only thing we would have liked would be to have a couple more spots to sit in the living room, we made due with a couple lawn chairs we found in the laundry room, and we could have used some ice cube trays. Frank and Suzanne were great to work with. We will probably be in touch with them again for next years trip. Wonderful Family Getaway.

Amazing Chalet

We stayed at The Gemstone for a Christmas family holiday. We were there for four days with our children and grandchildren, 10 of us. The Chalet was just perfect. We had lots of space and enjoyed the four bedrooms and the luxury of having three full bathrooms. The chalet has a large open space with vaulted ceiling. The kitchen is well equipped with all amenities required for a cook along with stainless steel appliances.The chalet is very cozy, well decorated and has very comfortable furniture. Each bedroom has its own TV and there is a large flat screen in the living area . Dish is available so you have a good selection of channels. The Gemstone is private and /secluded but yet you are only about 4 miles from the ski hill and 3 miles to downtown Ellicottville. In the evenings we really enjoyed the fireplace . It gave the chalet a warm homey feeling. This chalet is ideal for families. The owners are very helpful . We would highly recommend The Gemstone. We had a perfect Christmas there with our family and plan to return. The pictures do not do it justice . It is a truly amazing chalet.

We had the most amazing time and best experience! The Gemstone is top notch and extremely comfortable. The view was breath taking and the chalet was so beautiful inside and out! We were so close to town yet we felt like we were worlds away! Highly recommend it!

New Year's at the Gemstone

I thought that the photos and write up of the Gemstone were going to be too good to be true. I was worried that it sounded way too good on paper and would be disappointed when we arrived. I was wrong. Our stay was wonderful. We spent so much time in the chalet because it was so lovely. Cozy as well as spacious with all of the amenities you need and more. There were three couples in our group which was perfect as there were three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Would also be a great place for a family rental. Will certainly be returning next year.

We stayed at the Gemstone recently and had a great time. We really enjoyed the scenic setting (all the trees & hills)that the Chalet is in. The trees were just starting to turn colors. The inside of the Chalet is really a site to see with all the woodwork ,stone and open beam ceilings. Even the kitchen table was just right. We had an awesome dinner at Dinas restaurant in the village,highly recommended. Ellicottville is a little like the Aspen of the East.
