Description of the Ellijay vacation cabin rental

Just a few steps from the porch, a clear mountain stream curves in front of the cabin. The cabin is nestled into a little valley surrounded by mountains on 40 private acres, at the edge of the Chattahoochee National Forest. Just go ahead right now and say, "This is incredible!" One of our visitors described it as a little bit of heaven!

Enjoy a lazy afternoon in the hammock by the creek or relax in the rockers on the screened porch. Table and chairs available on screened porch for creekside dining in comfort. Picnic tables by the creek. Toast marshmallows in the campfire ring. Hike the trail on the property that crosses the creek several times, or hike on the Pin-Hoti Trail (joins the Appalachian Trail at Benton McKaye), only a mile away.

the best of the best!!!!!, September 23, 2009
By Carol Mathias (South Carolina)
If you want the vacation of a lifetime-to get away from all the stress and come back renewed and your faith restored this is most definitely the destination for you! This is by far the best kept secret in Georia! You don't need to go to Alaska to get away from it all and feel secluded but safe. The owners have left nothing out for your needs to be met and this beautiful place will inspire you and leave you feeling awed at nature whatever the season assuredly.Thank you Judy and Steve for your kindness in sharing this very special place on earth.

 What a great place!, June 24, 2009
By Michelle (Jacksonville, FL, USA)
I had read all the reviews and they were spot on! We loved this place and it's especially kid friendly! They do a great job making sure anyone can have a wonderful time! Our kids especially loved the creek (they were in it every single day) and the stock pond they have near by was great for fishing! Needless to say, we caught A LOT of fish! Make sure you bring your bug spray (although they even provide that). If your looking for a wonderful, relaxing vacation spot, with all the comforts of home, this is the place. We will certainly be back!! Thanks for the hospitality.

 A peaceful retreat, June 16, 2009
By Chico (Athens, GA)
I have to admit, I am hesitant to write this because I want to keep this place to myself. I have no complaints. The setting was beautiful and private. The sound of the water is everywhere on the property. The gardens were also really nice. Loved the strawberries. I only wish I could have experienced eating the tomatoes, figs, and other tasty treats when they were ripe, but that's up to Mother Nature. We did make use of some fresh herbs and ate on the screen in porch with pleasure to the sound of the creek. My friends couldn't believe I found this place online and I can't believe it was as nice as folks kept saying. The only thing I regret is not staying longer. Tasteful landscaping, beautiful location (seriously nice piece of property), a gate for security, competitive price, and a comfortable homey cabin made for the perfect stay in the woods. I plan on coming back.

 great cabin!, May 29, 2009
By Shawn Marie Booth (Warner Robins, GA)
I loved the cabin and all the amenities that were furnished to us as guests. From the nicely furnished kitchen to the soft, luxurious sheets, the owners thought of everything! As a city girl, I only wish I had known about the chigger bugs! They ate some of us alive and I'm still paying for it! But our overall experience was good.

Relaxing Weekend Getaway, April 7, 2009

My husband and I had a great time. As soon as we drove thru the wood gate, we knew we had made the right choice! The cabin and its surroundings were instantly calming. We will definitely visit again!

 Peaceful Haven, October 7, 2008
By Andrea L. Butzon (Hamilton, Georgia)
Wildacre is the most peaceful and heavenly setting we have ever stayed...ever! It was a gorgeous setting and the cabin is adorable...filled with so many homey touches! Two baskets of goodies were waiting for us! One was filled with wine, cheese and crackers and grapes, and the other was filled with S'mores makings! The kids had so much fun playing in the creek and exploring. Judy left fresh flowers and a tub of mums and colorful pumpkins along the front steps! The gardens are so pretty...fairytale gardens, to be sure! The picnic tables, grills, campfire ring, and hammock near the bubbling creek were so enticing to all of us. Judy and Steve oviously love this place very much, and I am so happy to have discovered it. We will definitely be returning many times in the future! It was just what the doctor ordered!!

 Serenity Found, June 10, 2008
By Donna Guy (Chattanooga, TN)
Absolutely beautiful, peaceful, it was all the website said and more. We take a girls' trip every year and have been looking for the one special place to go year after year--we found it at Wildacre. The creek is crystal clear, cool and refreshing. The cabin is well appointed and the welcome gift of wine and cheese was a most pleasant surprise. We can't wait until next year for our stay at Wildacre. Pam, Cindy, Donna, Brianna, Laura, Jennifer

Dear Steve & Judy,

We can't believe our stay is nearly over. We have had such a good time. We have enjoyed the hammock, walking in the woods and along the creek. My husband has done well without the Internet (Ha, Ha).

We had everything we needed. My two favorite things were the floors and screened in porch. Well, there is a third thing - the floor of the shower. Oh, fourth thing - your blue themed dishes in the kitchen.

We would have loved to stay longer, and hope to come back in the future. While there are plenty of things to do in the area, we were anxious to get back to our little "sanctuary." You all must have a most wonderful house not to live in this "little bit of heaven."

Thank you for letting us visit,
Jimmie & Diana, Tennessee

Judy & Steve,

You're right! this place is a bit of heaven on earth. Gracie wants to know why we have to leave & can't just stay here forever. It seems you all have thought of everything & what gracious & talented hosts you are. We took pictures in the flower garden; Gracie has lived in the stream, played badminton; hiked the trails, made s'mores & roasted wienies! We have just taken it all in. What a desperately needed reprieve for an overworked pediatrician. We can't thank you enough for your hospitality. We are already planning our next trip & have a list of friends to share your secret with :).

God's blessing to you,
Lisa, Mike & Gracie

Wildacre is a little piece of heaven! We've never seen such a beautiful setting. Our girls had so much fun playing in the creek and woods. We had campfires every night and even cooked an entire supper over the fire one night! We love the perennial garden - I love all your unique pottery and artwork in the cabin. The beds are super comfy and soft! We can't wait to visit Wildacre again!
