Write a review We loved our weekend at Laughing Bear. Called friends while there, to plan a trip up with them in the Spring. It's a very comfortable cabin in a beautiful spot, and we enjoyed relaxing, watching the deer, being able to cook anything, and be close to some nice restaurants too! Thanks for your hospitality! Dear Mark and Mary, We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Laughing Bear. Had to be the cleanest cabin that we have ever rented so we tried to leave it the same. Also appreciate the fact that you both available to answer any questions we had. It is a lovely cabin, great floor plan and very comfortable. Thanks for all the provisions that were there. Everything worked, and we had a great time. The people in the area and town of Ellijay couldn't have been friendlier. A nice place to visit. Thanks for helping us have such a lovely visit. The cabin was perfect! My wife and I enjoyed our two days at the Laughing Bear. The only downfall is that we did not stay long enough! :-) Next time we will be sure to reserve for a longer period of time and bring the kids. This mini vacation allowed us to have some much needed quiet time and talk to each other about life in general. We both needed this break from the fast pace of the city. Mary was great and we look forward to renting again. We were looking for a place to get away before school started at a reasonable price. Laughing Bear Cabin is a wonderful place to relax. Our kids had a great time. Couldn't leave the cabin without seeing deer everywhere. We had an awesome time and can't wait to go back. Exceeded my expectations. Wanted time away and this cabin was everything needed. The kids thought we were going camping and when they saw this cabin they were amazed. I couldn't believe how beautiful and relaxing the cabin was. Everything that was needed was there. In great area for sightseeing also. Goldmining, tubing, railroad to Tennessee, shopping and more..and all brocures were in cabin so no need to search. The area was beautiful and deer were amazing. We would definately stay again with no questions asked. Mary and Mark were great and everything was fantastic..If you want a vacation with everything I highly recommend this beautiful cabin. We are home now and my grandson is still talking about the cabin...Anyone thinking about renting this cabin believe me you won't regret it....Thanks Mary and Mark We rented the cabin for a little R&R and it was absolutely great! Every convience was thought of. We enjoyed the layout because it was quaint and yet not small. Mark called to make sure we got in alright and the lights on the outside of the cabin were left on for us :) Thanks for the welcome..the deer in the resort are amazing-take your camera for some awesome shots of wildlife :) We would rent this cabin again--thanks Mary and Mark for sharing your lovely home away from home with us :) Your cabin is absolutely beautiful in addition to peaceful and relaxing. The deer everyday were a wonderful surprise but we were especially thrilled when they were right behind the cabin. We went to three parks...The one with the beautiful waterfall was our favorite. Fort Mountain was a bit of a letdown but picturesque nonetheless. After venturing to the recreation center, we were happy that the cabin was in the location it was...being closer to the main highway. We wished we knew where to find the information for tubing. Had we more time, I think we could have figured that out!! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us! It couldn't have been more perfect!! Thanks Mary, for a great stay. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed watching the deer. They were everywhere! The porches were excellent for sitting and relaxing and the kitchen was plenty big enough to fix a meal for the whole family. If we decide to come back to the area for the apple festival in the fall, we will definitely rent this cabin again! took my wife and 2 children to laughing bear.the cabin was great.clean,all the amenties you needed.plenty of room. top notch.the views are fantastic.wildlife , the river,lots to do, i want to thank mark and mary for thier kindiness and caring through the booking process.i had 100 questions and they answered 101.they truly care about the people who stay in thier cabins.we will be back. everything about our vac. was great, from the nice cabin to the scenic views we loved it all.thanks again the williams family. My 12 year old and I escaped for a long weekend at Laughing Bear and we couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our time together. Everything we needed was in place. We ate in for every meal but one and lacked nothing for cooking. We shared the king size bed upstairs (better for the whole sleep-over feel) and they were so comfy my daughter slept in until 11:00 one day. I enjoyed that morning sitting in the peaceful surroundings of the screened porch, listening to the birds, and getting lost in a book. The amenities at the resort were great, with the indoor pool being a big hit for chilly spring days. And not only was Mary easy to work with, but we commented on how friendly and accommodating the entire staff of the resort was. We are already thinking about an opportunity to return with our guys in tow. Thanks for sharing your home with us! And btw, don't miss the fun of the Swan Drive-in at Blue Ridge while you're there! Thank you for the amazing 4 days in the mountain getaway. It offered all of the pleasures of home with breathtaking views and so close to the local attractions! We were able to be padt of the family of deer grazing in the front yard and slept better than we do at home! Hope to come back again next year! Really enjoyed a long weekend in the mountains with our daughter and her grandparents. Very relaxing setting, yet a fairly easy drive to state parks, restaurants, shopping, etc. Cabin is very thoughtfully equipped and comfortable. The owners were super-easy to communicate with prior to our visit, and they even gave us a call after we had arrived to make sure we made it there safely. Our daughter loved it so much she wants to go back to Laughing Bear in the summer and fall. Thanks again for everything, Mary and Mark! We had such a great time over Easter weekend. We had plenty of room in the cabin, we used the kids fish pond in the neighborhood, and went to several of the parks in the resort. The owners are so easy to work with. We were having such a great time we didn't want to leave! This is a great cabin! Thank you Mark and Mary for a wonderful, very clean cabin for four beautiful days in CRR! I knew it would be a great vacation home, but it was even more than I had expected. We look forward to returning in the near future and perhaps buying a home in your subdivision. Thank you for sharing your "Laughing Bear Cabin"! My wife and I visited this cabin to celebrate our third wedding anniversary and we absolutely LOVED IT. The cabin was comfortable and neat with lot's of things to do in the city of Ellijay. Because the cabin had everything we needed we rarely let it. I recommend this to anyone who would like to get away and enjoy some quiet time with nature. A++ We very much enjoyed staying in the Laughing Bear Cabin! It was wonderful to just sit by the fire and visit! The beds are VERY comfortable (I had a hard time getting out of it in the mornings)! Thanks to Mary and Mark who made the arragements so easy! She was on top of everything and I would recommend booking with her for a hassle-free transaction! The cabin is in great condition and we loved every second! Although we didn't catch anything, we attempted to fish in the river, which was very enjoyable! The town of Ellijay is also so qaint and beautiful, only a 10 min drive from the cabin! Thanks again for having us! We look forward to a stay in the near future! My husband and I wanted to rent a cabin in the mountains for our first year wedding anniversary. For a couple of weeks we researched different locations but couldn't make up our minds. But after speaking with Mary I knew this would be the perfect spot for us. Her description of the cabin was right on point. The view was remarkable. Honestly I don't think there was anything about the cabin that we didn't love. It was cozy and well equipped. This cabin was stocked with just about everything you would need for your trip. All you have to bring are clothes & food. We enjoyed our stay so much that we made a promise to each other to come back soon (even with the kids). Thanks Mary. My Husband and I are very busy people. When I saw Mrs. Mary posting, I emailed her right away. She got back to me within 30min. My entire trip was planned within the hour. The cabin is as she describes. We had a great weekend full of many memories. We got to actually sit down and talk as if we were teenagers. We road up the mountain, over the bridge and through the beautiful lake. I am thankful that good people still exist. Mrs. Mary was extremely kind and kept in touch with me through the weeks that lead up to my trip. Mrs. Mary and I have already arranged for my family and I to stay in the cabin before the Summer begins. I am thankful for this beautiful stranger who blessed my husband and I with memories will last a life time. I look forward to our next stay at this cabin. We had a wonderful time in this cabin. It was the perfect spot for us to come and unwind and enjoy getting back into the mountains. The cabin is excellently equipped, nicely decorated with plenty of room and every amenity we wanted. I highly recommend it and can't wait to come back. We had a great time on our vacation. We have not been to the moutains since out honeymoon eight years ago and we forgot how beatiful it is! We enjoyed hiking with the kids and of course our dog, roasting hot dogs and marsh mellows on a camp fire by our cabin, playing games and having fun. We can not wait to go back next year! This little cabin is wonderful. We just love the loft area. So warm and cozy. The fireplace heats up the whole cabin making it romantic. Extremely relaxing and stress free right down to the deer that came to visit us one night in the front of the cabin. The town has everything you could possibly need while there. It's just a great place. There will definitely be a next time and I would recommend it to everyone. This cabin offers everything the owner lists and more! You literally need to bring clothes and, if you don't want to eat out every night, some food!! I will never stay in another hotel again. I cannot say enough how pleased I was with the cabin...the price, the cleanliness, the friendliness of the owners (and how promptly e-mails were returned) and the manner in which the owners made us feel welcome at the cabin (the last one is a surprise!). We were able to catch the leaves changing colors, the weather was BEAUTIFUL, and we saw the wonderful waterfalls that north GA has to offer. I am not one that usually writes reviews, even if my intentions are to do so! However, I really do think this is such a great place to take your family or significant other!
