Such a wonderful place. So cozy you feel right at home. It's located in a lovely gated community with beautiful scenery to take pictures. We had a wonderful time. There is a walmart and pharmacy nearby for whatever you need. If you want to relax and enjoy the mountains, get this place.
Fantastic Fall Vacation

We are return vacation renters. It really is a "Peace of Heaven". Our family stays here every year to enjoy the Ellijay Apple Festival and the many local sights. We visited the charming town square in Ellijay, Amicalolla Falls, Blue Ridge, Toccoa Riverside, a Crafts Show and the Coosawattee River. So much to see. The home is always very clean and comfortable. We love cooking on the gas stove. Our family will definitely be back again.

Peace and Quiet in the Mountains
August 18, 2014
We stayed at Peace of Heaven cabin for two weeks. I was a little worried about staying in a "resort" thinking it would be crowded and lack privacy. I was very pleasantly surprised. The cabin is tucked away in a very secluded area and you can not see any other cabins. We did hear a vehicle pass on the gravel road once in a while. The first morning we were there, the deer were in the yard watching as I prepared breakfast. We never left the cabin without seeing deer or turkeys. We did not see any bear though. The resort is very nice with lots of trees and parks and the river runs through. There is tubing and fishing and canoeing. There are also three swimming pools which unfortunately I could not use since I developed a severe respiratory infection on the way up. I was able to get medicine and still enjoyed my visit. At first staying at the cabin reading and relaxing and then exploring the resort and the neighboring communities. The cabin is clean and exactly as described, we enjoyed our visit very much and look forward to visiting again.
Thank you so much Maureen and Hugh! We are so happy you were pleased with the cabin but sorry you were sick and not able to use the pools. It does sound like you were able to get out and explore our beautiful resort which I like to think is more like a huge preserve with some roads and homes scattered throughout. :) We would love to have you back any time and will look forward to hearing from you whenever you are ready.
Good Time, But...

Very cute cabin, nicely appointed, loved the wildlife we encountered on our drive up! Only disappointment was that the indoor pool (only one available after Labor Day) is nowhere near the cabin. After a 25 minute drive across the entire resort, we were turned away from the pool because we didn't have the "guest pass." Very disappointed kids!! All in all, a nice trip for the price.
Very Nice Short Stay
August 1, 2013
My family and drove up from Acworth, GA just an hour away for a long weekend staycation in the mountain area of North GA. We stayed at "Peace of Heaven" and enjoyed every minute. The cabin is a small modern home with updated furniture and appliances, very clean and well maintained. Vicki was very polite and helpful with anything we inquired about. The Rec Center was a bonus with the indoor pool, mini golf, basketball, tennis, playground and picnic area. The resort is huge with hundreds of properties yet we were in a very secluded area surrounded by trees. Deer are all around. Great for children. Very peaceful. Will definitely return in the future.
clean and well appointed

My husband and I stayed here and we will be back! It is clean, well furnished and easy to find. The deer visited every morning and evening. This is a great rental house.

My husband and I had a fantastic time of rest and relaxation at the Peace of Heaven cabin. When we first arrived it appeared to be in a neighborhood, which we were worried about. But no need to worry! It truly is secluded! The cabin was clean and tastefully decorated! Vicki was wonderful to work with. The internet was not working when we arrived and she sent an IT guy out to fix it for us! We truly enjoyed our morning hikes, nighttime bonfires and using the cast iron skillets in the kitchen! Also, it was close enough to town to grab groceries etc... We will definitely be booking here again!

The cabin was a great jumping off point for us to hike Amicalola Falls on one day and Ft. Mountain State Park on the next. In between we shopped in quaint downtown Ellijay and the local orchards. The cabin was in excellent condition and very comfortable. Everything was super clean and ready for use. At night we used the fireplace and watched movies. Watch out for deer driving in and out from the property. P.S. Thanks for the great coffee maker and the filters on-hand--I can't do without my java!

Everything positive written about this home is true. A very clean, well furnished, nicely decorated home to enjoy your visit to the Ga. mountains. Vickie was a sweet person to deal with and helped us find our way when we got lost. Thank you.

This was a wonderful get away. We met up with family and enjoyed our time together. The weather during this time is mostly overcast and some rainy days and nights, but with our plans to enjoy family, we had a great time just catching up. We enjoyed the fire pit when the weather was nice and the wildlife is amazingly unafraid of people, saw lots of deer and wild turkeys just walking around. The cabin was clean and neat, the kitchen was adequate but if you like to cook on non-stick cookware you should bring it with you. There are games and things to do in the cabin but we brought our own favorites. The location was nice and the quaint town on Ellijay was enjoyable. We had a great time shopping antiques and novelty shops and enjoyed eating at some wonderful mom & pop restaurants. There is a Wal-Mart close by as well as some nationally known shops and restaurants. The Atlanta Aquarium was only about an hour and 15 mins away and we enjoyed our time there, it was well worth the trip. In the other direction about 45 mins was the Amicalola Falls another nice place to visit. We did spend some time in the Apple Orchards stores and brought home some amazing apples. All in all a nice place to visit.

All I can say is we had a wonderful, relaxing time at the cabin. Upon arrival, we were greeted with deer in the yard. Each morning and afternoon, we would see deer in the yard again and again. It was so peaceful just watching them. They were beautiful! The cabin was awesome and inviting. The owner did a great job decorating this home! We fell in love with the cabin as soon as we got on the property. I enjoyed sitting outside early in the morning just drinking my coffee and reading my Bible. The morning weather was almost 60 degress, no humidity, no gnats, nor mosquitos to bother me :-). It was truly a peaceful vacation. Our children wanted to see Rock City and Ruby Falls. It was only about an hour and ten minute drive from the cabin. We also had fun tubing down the river. We did the four hour "high adventure" experience with Boogie River. Fun, fun, fun. This cabin's location was perfect for our vacation. The drive to the cabin was beautiful. We can't wait to visit again!!!

We we had a wonderful time at Peace of Heaven! What more can you ask for- seclusion, a cabin sitting on a hilltop, an indoor fireplace using actual wood and not gas, a well-stocked kitchen and super cozy living area and bedrooms. The owner-manager was a joy to work with and she would bend over backwards for us. A true professional dedicated to her guests' satisfaction! While we didn't see any elusive bear on the trip, we did see ALOT of deer. And if the weather's foul, Coossawattee has a great rec center and indoor pool. Would recommend to all friends and family!

Our stay at Peace of Heaven was truly wonderful and very relaxing! The owner Vicki was extremely nice and accommodated us in everything we asked for. The house was clean, kitchen was filled with everything you needed, rooms were spacious and cozy! I found that having a washer/dryer was a bonus. Our sons enjoyed the fire pit outside as we cooked hot dogs and toasted marshmallows. If you are looking for some R & R, this is the place to stay! Highly recommend it!! Looking forward to going back again!

We loved staying at "A Peace of Heaven!: It is a beautiful clean house! And great space! It's secluded too! We saw dear the first day! Right outside the house! We saw wild turkey's on another day. We loved the location too! Lots to do for the kids too! Just can't say enough! Will definitely come back!

No Place Like Home
November 4, 2011
This was our 2nd time staying at "Peace" of Heaven and we found our time there this year just as enjoyable as the first. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, you could possibly need at your own home is furnished for you there. And talk about clean, every room is spotless. We met the housekeeper and she's not only a sweet lady but also VERY thorough. She takes care of it like it was her own home. It's a long drive from our house (10 hrs.) and we're always tired of being cooped up in our car by the time we arrive so we always take advantage of their firepit (complete with cut & stacked firewood) and comfy adirondack chairs and have a bonfire the first night of our visit. The quietness of the secluded spot plus the smell of the fresh mountain air just helps us to unwind. The cabin is centrally located and there's lots to do in the area. God willing, we will be going back next fall. Thank you Vicki and Greg Platt!!

Nice, private and quiet. My only complaints were the pillows were paper thin and we could never get the internet to work with a new laptop and Ipad.
August 3, 2011
vicki thanks for sharing you beautiful home, we got to see the bear it walked up the drive when we were siting at the table in broad daylight. we also saw the deer & trukeys. It was a wounderful getaway . we plan to return as soon as possible.

Secluded, peaceful, spacious
July 12, 2011
We have tried mountain get-aways before, and though the cabins were always well appointed, the location left something to be desired. (On busy road, no privacy). This time we were not disappointed. We knew when we had to drive on windy roads to get there, that this was definitely secluded and private. We were greeted by deer and the cabin was spacious and comfortable. My 6 yo daughter loved her pink room so much, she didn't want to leave. We enjoyed making smores over the fire pit, grilling out and watching the deer come by. We even saw a turkey family with 6 little ones. Even with the seclusion and the privacy, it was easy to get to town and do all the fun things in the area. (Tubing, horseback riding, climbing the Amicalola Falls, boating, shopping, etc.) We had a great time and look forward to coming back.
Just what we wanted!!!
June 14, 2011
What a wonderful spot for 'peace' and quite ... which was just what we had hoped for!!! The cabin was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Our correspondence with the owner prior to our arrival was very helpful. Although there were many options of things to do in the nearby area, we spent most of our time reading, doing a jig saw puzzle and lots of naps!!! I would recommend it highly!!!

This was our half-way point on our way to Florida, resting from driving. What a great place to relax. The cabin was nice, clean and comfortable. Would definitely go back and recommend to others.

This is a fantastic place! Nice, new interior. Very comfortable and cozy. Only suggestion is to have a map or directions to/from the cabin to the different areas. We tried to get to/from the rec center, but it was a maze. Highly recommend. We would definitely stay again! Thanks!

My family and I had a wonderful time. It was the best vacation we've ever had. We saw deer and wild turkey and it even snowed 6 inches. What a treat! Can't wait to go back.
Wonderful, clean cabin!
November 10, 2010
My boyfriend and I stayed for 4 nights and absolutely loved it! The kitchen has everything you need and the outside firepit was great for toasting smores. We saw at least 5 deer each time we left the resort and each time we came in for the night. The deer were very tame and allowed you to get very close. It was a great experience! We will definitely be back in the future. Very clean cabin felt like home.
Awesome stay! Wonderful!
October 26, 2010
This is quite possibly the best trip I have ever had! I enjoyed everything and hated to leave. The cabin was wonderful as was the resort!
Great family weekend!
October 19, 2010
Beautiful home and well appointed. Extremely clean and had everything you need for a quiet weekend in the mountains. Daughter loved the pink room with princess theme! We enjoyed telling stories around the fire pit and toasting smores. Vivkie was easy to work with and we will visit yor cabin again soon. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Just like home....

This cabin is so nice inside! Everything is brand new and the decorations/furnishings made us feel like we were right at home. Great fire pit outside! Quiet sleeping, close to nature and to downtown Ellijay! You can't beat the price!! Highly recommend! Just bring your own pillows - the ones provided are very thin.

If you are looking to get-away to have a very relaxing, quiet vacation, this is the place. The house was very clean, roomy and comfortable. We enjoyed traveling through the mountains during the day and the campfire at night. We would definitely consider returning for another vacation with the car or truck. The driveway is not motorcycle friendly.
Very nice and relaxing
July 15, 2010
My family and I really enjoyed our time here. The home was comfortable and very nice, and the front porch was a perfect place for drinking my coffee. My children were amazed at seeing deer right outside the kitchen window. Ideal place for quiet, quality family time; kids loved roasting hot dogs, and marshmallows for smores like we were camping (and I loved comfy bed and garden bathtub)!!

what a great time
November 25, 2009
We stayed at Peace Of Heaven last October when we made our annual trip to see the fall foliage. I wish we had found this place sooner. We had the best time, everything we could have possibly needed was provided for us. The cabin was immaculate, comfortable and very well decorated. We loved sitting out by the campfire just as much as sitting around the fire inside. We loved watching the deer and turkey come up to feed everyday. The area is also beautiful. We could have spent another week just to get in all the sights. We are happy to say we have found our new place to stay on our annual visits and we can't wait to go back to Peace of Heaven. Thank you for all you did to make us feel comfortable and at home.
Relaxing Getaway in the Georgia Mountains!!
November 12, 2009
My husband and I spent the last week of October at this cabin and had a relaxing and enjoyable time. For me, fall is the best time of year with all its autumn colors and cool temperature. The cabin was very welcoming, clean and with all the modern amenities that us city folks need. Thanks to Vicki for all the recommendations of places to visit. I wish I could have spent another week in Georgia to do more signtseeing. I will definitely be back!!!
Great Getaway Weekend
November 5, 2009
My friends and I stayed at Peace of Heaven last December and had a wonderful time! It was very clean and roomy enough for the six of us. We went horseback riding and spent a day at Ruby Falls on Saturday and Sunday spent the day watching football. It was beautiful to see the deer eating while we made breakfast and enjoyed the fireplace. And at night it was nice to sit around the outside fire even though it was pretty cold!! It’s in a great location and nice and secluded but still close enough for a day trip to Chattanooga. The owners are friendly and easy to contact which made arranging the vacation that much easier! We had so much fun that we’ve already booked our trip back and look forward to many more winter trips!! This year we’re hoping to squeeze in some fishing =)

Awesome mountain experience!
October 15, 2009
You feel right at home with all the amenities right there. Deer everywhere to observe. Enjoyed just sitting on the porch and listening to the rain and country smells. Having a fire in the evening was very relaxing to say the least. Found a great breakfast place downtown Ellijay not 15 minutes away. Great homemade biscuits and grits! Horseback riding 27 minutes away up in Ft Mtn for only $30. Rode in the clouds! Lake Carter near. Scenic train ride close too. Next time Helen for a visit. I'd do it again We just hated to leave. I recommend it for a quiet retreat! Bring a good book if your not into seeing the sights because the house feels like home!
