An engagement to remember

I cannot begin to rate this property and its owners highly enough. Joyce and Patrick went above and beyond my wildest expectations for making our stay one that we will remember for a lifetime. The cabin is even more amazing in person than the photos and its location is wonderfully central to several nearby attractions. The view from the porch combined with the birds and the deer made it a struggle to force myself to even go to the store. I have never felt more welcome or left completely at ease and rejuvenated we can't wait to return in the years to come to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you so much! R&M

Annual reunion another success!
February 26, 2013
This was our second stay at the Lazy Bear and once again, the cabin was great! We had 10 people this time, and it easily accomodated everyone without anyone feeling "crowded" (as can sometimes happen with relatives!) We love the numerous fresh-smelling, soft throw blankets to wrap up in and sit on the deck and drink coffee. The cabin was again spotlessly clean and the kitchen is stocked with any appliance, dish, or mixer you might need. Thanks again for sharing your home! Karen Baraty

Yes, more than 5 stars, for I need to give props to Joyce and Pat, the owners. Not only were they easy to communicate with, helpful and supportive, it was if we were invited into their home to relax, regroup and enjoy; without actually saying it, the message was "make yourself at home." And, this home was warm, far better than advertised, welcoming, extremely comfortable, and easy to settle into. The views were spectacular, and we enjoyed evening cocktails on the deck, as well as morning coffee and playing chess outside. The rooms were spacious, gorgeously and pleasingly decorated, the home had every amenity, and the plethora of TVs made it easy for the young children to have their own escape when we adults watched a movie or the Falcons win (a bonus). This was a retreat for me, my three grown children and their spouses, and 3 children ranging from 5 to 12, and everyone felt as if they were in a mountain top Shangri La. Great beds, lots of sofas and throws to cuddle up in, towels, supplies, amenities galore filled this home, and it was like sharing a special residence, and was far more than any other rental I have experienced. Our only "difficulty" was leaving after 5 days and 4 nights. We are ready to go back again and again.

50th Wedding Anniversary
October 3, 2012
My husband and I searched for weeks for the perfect place to spend our 50th wedding anniversary. When we saw this mountain home we knew it was the place for us. We were there for approx. 4 days and 3 nights. Things were made perfect for us by Joyce. This mountain home is secluded but not so far from places to eat, buy groceries, etc. We enjoyed the little antique shops in Ellijay but most of all the rest and relaxation being in this beautiful mountain home. Thank you to Joyce & Pat for taking care of every little detail and sharing your mountain home with us. May God bless you!

We really enjoyed this cabin. It was clean, spacious, and had all if the amenities we could ask for. We are hoping to come back when it is cooler out and we can make more use of the outdoor spaces. Overall we had a great experience. Thanks

This Cabin is Fantastic

The pictures just do not do this cabin justice. It is beautiful and the views are wonderful.......they must be breathtaking in the Fall. The cabin was very clean and is quite large. There were eight of us but 16 would have been just as comfortable as we were. There were absolutely no problems during our stay and Joyce and Pat were very nice and easy to work with. I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with this rental.

GREAT!!!! GREAT!!!!! GREAT!!!!! We loved every minute of our stay at the cabin. The only down side of the stay was the fact that we had to go home. Pat & Joyce were very easy to deal with. Everything that was promised was delivered, and then some. I would deffinitly recomend this rental, and will hopefully stay again.

Spacious, secluded comfort

This cabin exceeded my expectations in numerous ways. The cabin is very large, the basement has lots of games and activities, and the views (of the stars and of the mountains) are grand! Within 10 minutes of stepping outside at night I saw three shooting stars! But you don't need to be outside to see them; the gigantic windows in the living area are more than enough to see outside. I would have made a wish, but my wishes were already coming true by being out in this secluded spot relaxing with my friends. The world seemed very far away, yet a 15 minute drive brings you to the grocery stores in Ellijay. initially it was difficult to find the cabin because we came at night and tried using our GPS. Don't do that; the GPS maps are outdated and Joyce's directions are clear. The kitchen has all the amenities one would need for cooking or a BBQ and the firepit was pleasant for sitting around and shootin' the wind. My only complaint is that the hot tub was heavily chlorinated. Joyce has adjusted the levels, though; they are excellent with communication. Would I rent again? Absolutely! I would stay longer next time, because the place is so relaxing and there are so many things at the cabin to enjoy. The price is more than fair for such a property and I was refunded my deposit in about 24 hours.

Fabulous Mountain Get-Away

I am hesitant to express my satisfaction thoroughly, because I want this best kept secret to remain available for future stays! The cabin is ideal for a group of any size. We had 6 adults, we chose this cabin partially because each couple had a queen or king sized bed. All the spaces are very nicely appointed and contain everything one would need for a comfortable stay. The cabin was immaculately kept and inviting upon arrival. Nothing had to be done to kick-off a great weekend in the mountains. The cabin is secluded with no neighbors in sight, which allows complete privacy and unobstructed views of the ridges and surrounding nature. The cabin boasts a relaxing 4-person hot tub, large fire ring, and a two sided gas fireplace in the living room. There is no reason why you should not be able to unwind and relax at this cabin! The cabin is described as being pet friendly, which we utilized, but if you pet is in any way destructive I would advise you to not choose this cabin. There are numerous stuffed animals placed around the cabin, as well as, custom furniture that could pose a major problem if your pet has any tendency to chew. Joyce and Pat are very easy to work with and professional and hope to work with them again in the future. Great weekend! Thanks!
