Description of the Embden Lake vacation cabin rental

You'll enjoy your stay at one of our two, one bedroom cottages. Spring fed Embden Lake is 4 1/2 miles long and is one of Maines cleanest lakes. Just a short walk to 325'of private frontage. A dock is available to tie up your boat, or use our 16' canoe, or the paddle boat. There is a float for swimming and a sitting area near the water. Both cottage have fully equipped kitchens & 3/4 bathrooms.
(shower only, no tub) The bedrooms each have one queen size bed. Both cottages have decks with outdoor furniture and gas grills. Our cottages are pet and smoke free with accommodations for two adults each.

Area Description

Nestled in the western mountains of Maine on one of the most pristine lakes in the area. 45 minutes from Sugarloaf/USA, 30 minutes from Lakewood Theater and Golf Course. Movie theaters in Skowhegan and Farmington about 30-45 minutes away. Local dining establishments in local towns near by.
The map is not correct. On the map you can see "Embden Colony Club", that is not the name of the road, the name of the road is "KINGS DRIVE". Where they marked us on the map is not right and it is not Kings Drive!

Perfect weekend, July 28, 2009

This was a perfect place for a quiet weekend for my husband and I. The cabins are situated on the hillside with a great view of the water, but far enough away to mute all the power boats, jet skis, etc. If you are a fussy person, do not worry about the basic brown board look on the outside of the cabins. Inside the cabins are spotless, with pretty knotty pine and berber carpets. The flowers and yard art is beautiful without being too formal. The spot down on the water is private and natural. We took the canoe out but there are a lot of camps on the lake, so we went back to our favorite spot below the cabins.

We have stayed at numerous cabins in Maine. This was by far the best. The cabin is spacious and well appointed. The view out the window is breath taking.
