Description of the Embden Lake vacation cabin rental
(shower only, no tub) The bedrooms each have one queen size bed. Both cottages have decks with outdoor furniture and gas grills. Our cottages are pet and smoke free with accommodations for two adults each.

The name had been changed to KINGS DRIVE when 911 changed all the fire lane numbers to names. The map is old.

Excellent Labor Day Weekend

We had a great stay at the cottage on the hill on Embden Pond! The cottage was absolutely spotless and included all of the comforts of home. The lake was very quiet during our stay which made our canoe and pedal boat excursions all the more relaxing. We didn't catch as many fish as we had hoped but all in all it was an excellent way to wind down our summer!

Peaceful, immaculate getaway

This is our third summer visiting Norma and Carl, and it feels like coming home now. We spent 2 wonderful weeks at the cottage - a great place to wind down and get away from it all. The bass fishing off the dock was great as well as the crystal clear water for swimming. The cottage is better equipped than our kitchen at home. We did more exploring on day trips this year, a beautiful ride up hte Old Canada Road to the Provence of Quebec and Moxie Falls. We are already thinking about what dates we will visit next year. We stayed for only 3 nights and it was hardly long enough. As other reviews say, bring the food and supplies you need as the corner market is small, but the cabin was gorgeous! And the view...spectactular. It was a short walk to the lake and we took the canoe out and fished (with no luck) and sat in the sun. It was so relaxing and quiet. The perfect weekend getaway!

Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle
July 6, 2012
My boyfriend and I spent 5 great nights relaxing, fishing, and kayaking on the pond. It is about a 20-30 minute drive to the nearest store so we packed a cooler with groceries which worked out great. If you are looking for a great place to pick up some great grilling items you have to stop at Kniffins Specialty Meats & Smokehouse. We got some amazing steaks and chops for the grill. Mmmm mmmm! The cottage has everything you need and was super clean. Carl and Norma are great hosts and will tell you all the good spots to hit if you are wondering what other activities there are to do. I went moose watching but had no luck. Next time Carl will show me the good spots! If you jet skis or a boat, this is perfect for you! The pond is so big we barely had any people near us. The people who were around were friendly and respectful of others around them. Hope to have some friends to bring with us next year!

Very nice, quiet, cozy place. The cottage is pretty spacious (ideally for couple), well equipped, clean, and looks inside better than in images. Very nice view from windows. Lake is clear, beautiful for swimming. We also enjoyed using paddle boat. One tip: buy all the staff and food which you want using while vacation in advance, since the near stores are pretty far and the choice there is limited.

The place itself is beyond beautiful, as is the view of the serene lake you have from your bedroom window. The ideal getaway for couples. My boyfriend and I are from NYC and it was exactly what we were looking for--secluded, quiet, comfortable, and beautiful. We couldn't help using the word perfect over and over again to describe our time at this cottage. The cottage is fully stocked with supplies and home necessities, and it's extremely well kept. Not to mention, the owners, Karl and Norma, are super nice. Basically, I can go on and on about how great this place is, but I encourage you to just see for yourself!

Perfect weekend

This was a perfect place for a quiet weekend for my husband and I. The cabins are situated on the hillside with a great view of the water, but far enough away to mute all the power boats, jet skis, etc. If you are a fussy person, do not worry about the basic brown board look on the outside of the cabins. Inside the cabins are spotless, with pretty knotty pine and berber carpets. The flowers and yard art is beautiful without being too formal. The spot down on the water is private and natural. We took the canoe out but there are a lot of camps on the lake, so we went back to our favorite spot below the cabins.

We have stayed at numerous cabins in Maine. This was by far the best. The cabin is spacious and well appointed. The view out the window is breath taking.
