Downtown 101 is a coastal shopping district over 100 years old featuring historic architecture, quaint shops, sidewalk cafes, and restaurants framed by beautiful flower baskets. The organization Downtown Encinitas Merchants Association (DEMA) is a great resource for information on business in Encinitas.

Surf

The beaches in Encinitas are outstanding. There are many stretches of beach that lie between Cardiff-by-the-Sea and La Costa. The surfing is unbeatable and many surf contests are held throughout the year in Encinitas. The San Elijo Lagoon Reserve is the largest coastal wetland in San Diego County and is home to nearly 300 different bird species throughout the year.

Visitor's Center

The Encinitas Visitor's Center, located at 138 Encinitas Blvd., within the Chamber of Commerce's offices, is an informational site promoting Encinitas. The center directs visitors to local landmarks, restaurants, and lodging, and provides information on area demographics. Maps, publications, brochures, and souvenirs are available, as well as discounted tickets to Legoland, Wild Animal Park, and the San Diego Zoo.

Our family stayed during Christmas at 1086 and made great memories. Every morning the dolphins would swim by and every evening we would watch the beautiful sunset go down. There are great beaches close by that we went to, but it would have been great to have a private access from the home, we would have been at the beach more often, but would highly recommend staying at this property. Also the communication between us and the rental agency was very good, if we had any problems or questions, they returned our call promptly.

We really enjoyed our families spring vacation to North County San Diego. Lot's of room and great places to sit and view the ocean. WOuld have liked to have access to the ocean but it was a nice short walk to the public stairs.

The house had a beautiful view of the ocean. The house was in a very quiet and pleasant neighborhood, and the house looked new inside. Overall an amazing stay.
