Area Description

Manasota Key provides a lovely lay back tropical atmospehere, yet is so close to everything....Englewood is only 5 minutes by car and offers a full line of shopping, restaurants, golf, fishing and other water activities. Venice is only 15 minutes to the north and Sarasota provides theatre and fine dining only 40 minutes away. The area is famous for its commitment to the preservation of nature and offers numerous boat tours that include dolphin watches, tours of the Myakka and Peace Rivers, as well as the fabulous sunset tours on the Gulf of Mexico. This area is also world renowned for its fabulous fishing....everything from flats with Snook and Redfish , the famous Silver Tarpon in the local Passes , to the endless variety of species found in the deep sea excursions on the Gulf of Mexico. Spring Training break, October 30, 2009

My wife and I stayed in one of Marg's units at El Galeon by the Sea in March for a spring training break to catch the Tampa Bay Rays at their new complex in Port Charlotte. The unit was very comfortable and the beachfront location was superb. Manasota Key is a very quiet and relaxing spot to get away from it all but you still have a couple of bar/restaurants within easy walking distance. Marg couldn't have been more helpful and went out of her way to make sure everything was just right. We would definitely go back again.

Our family and two teenage friends had a wonderful time. The view was wonderful,neighbors friendly & the condo was comfortable. We were right at home & had fun shopping and eating as well. Marg was very helpful with questions we had and spot on. We fished, rented a boat, swam, relaxed and for sure are planning on returning as often as we can. We just rented a two bedroom villa on the beach and we had a wonderful, relaxing time. The beach was beautiful and many, thousands, of shells came in after a storm and you would not believe the people on the beach hunting for shells. It was something to see. We enjoyed the pool, the water was warm and very smoothing. Also we barbequed and ate on the dock on the beach right on the property. We also watched the sunset at night. We took many walks on the beach. Found a few good resturants close by, and also some within walking distance. The people there were very friendly. We would recommend to anyone to rent El Galeon by the Sea, and we would come back.
