River Mist Cabin, Kayak, Tubing, Trout Fishing
|Per night||$143 - $160|
About the owner: We enjoy the quiet here but also the many outdoor activities available in this area. Our favorite activities are fishing, tubing, rafting, exploring & sitting on the deck, or soaking in the Hot Tub and looking at the sparkling river. Even in the winter, we love sitting on the upper deck chairs or the sofa downstairs, drinking hot Irish Coffee and watching the river flow by on a Saturday morning after a hard week of work in the city. What therapy! I always enjoy driving up here from the south and seeing the first set of BlueRidge Mountains on the skyline, just makes you take that long awaited exhale -- like your finally at home again. Guess I'm a mountain man after all. Ya'll come on over here and enjoy!
Why the Owner Chose Blue Ridge:
This area has all of the outdoor activities we could ever ask for plus exceptional outdoor beauty, it also makes a very romantic get away. There's nothing that compares to watching a Blue Herring at the bank of Fighting Town Creek hunting trout. They get really big up here, wing span of 6'. The stars above on a clear night will AMAZE you, we even keep a telescope up stairs for you to use if you know how. It is very convenient to the town of BlueRidge, McCaysville, Atlanta, Chattanooga & Knoxville. In the heat of summer it is so nice to wade into what we call our natural whirlpool (middle of the creek there is a 4.5' bowl of water) deep enough to sit on the boulders there and keep your head above water. I've almost fallen asleep there it's so relaxing. We had a renter that said that's about all they did when they were there last June. They call places like this 'God's Country', I can understand why. You really connect with nature up here. I couldn't live without our cabin now that my family has experienced it. We want to share it with everybody! I could go on and on -- the scent of the white pinewood when you open the cabin door, the hummingbirds that buzz by in the mornings, the distant howl of a coyote and her pups. Just Awesome. We love to hike the BlueRidge mountains, go riding the 4-wheelers, fishing and kayaking. I'll trade a beach get-away for this 3 to 1.

We just returned from a relaxing long weekend at River Mist! I loved the cabins decor with all the amenities of home including WiFi and satellite. Loved the fire pit and being steps away from the river. Relaxing in the hammock and listening to the water was a great place to take an afternoon nap. Can't wait to return and use the kayaks and tubes!

We had the greatest time at this cabin! The property is just beautiful and the cabin was warm and inviting. It was well equipped and very clean. The neighbors are a little close, you will see them and hear them, so if you are looking for total seclusion you won't find it here, But, if you are looking for that backwoods, country feel and don't mind a little human interaction (which I don't, it was actually fun to watch the kids in the cabin next to us have so much fun on the creek fishing and tubing.) this is the cabin for you. We didn't catch any fish, but we really didn't try too hard, it was too easy to just relax in the hammock, or sit and listen to the sound of the creek while inhaling the clean air. The surrounding towns of McCaysville and Blueridge are just charming, you can spend a whole day exploring them and always find something new and beautiful. There is a grocery store close by and there are many places to eat if you don't feel like cooking. The cabin is in a GREAT location, you can drive to Tennessee and North Carolina all in one day. There are many beautiful scenic mountain drives in this area, the autumn leaves were gorgeous! The caretakers were friendly and welcoming and they do a great job at keeping the cabin clean and in good repair. I would highly recommend this cabin.
