Description of the Fair Haven vacation cottage rental
Perfect spot for relaxation! Wake to the sound of the water lapping against the shore - just 10' from the cottage. Each bedroom has a double size bed, dresser, cabinet and hanging rod for clothes. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size smooth top electric range/oven, refrigerator w/ ice maker, and all small appliances. All the pots & pans, dishes, flatware, glasses, etc. you need to prepare & serve meals & snacks. A gas grill (gas supplied) is on the street side deck, with 2 picnic tables.
The "front room", facing Little Sodus Bay, has a large table and 6 chairs, and a sofa & recliner. Next to the kitchen is a futon, 2 chairs, TV/VCR/DVD/CD player, AM/FM radio. No cable = no channels.
Thru sliding glass doors, you'll love the 19' X 30' deck, and 8' X 50' dock. The covered boat lift has room for your boat. Bring your canoe, jet ski,etc. We have table/ chairs/ umbrella/ lounge chairs/ swings for your comfort, and a kayak & swim noodles. The water is about 8' deep at the end of the dock, and clear, so you can see the fish swimming, and warm enough for you to swim and play.
The bathroom has a shower.
Smoking is allowed OUTSIDE only. Don't leave butts on the ground - put in outside trash can.

Area Information
Fair Haven is a small town on the South East "corner" of Lake Onterio. Little Sodus Bay is the 3rd largest bay off the lake - about 1 mile wide x 3 miles long.
The street by our cottage is a dead end, so there's little traffic. Peaceful and quiet.
The State Park is about a 20 minute walk away, with a sand beach and fishing pier.
The library in town has computers /internet available. You can also borrow a DVD, VCR,and books. You can usually connect to wi-fi outside at the cottage.
The local grocery store/gas station has the essentials.
There are several good restaurants within 20 min. drive.
A nice public laundry is located on the West end of town -5 min. drive.

best deck on the bay as far as i could see and while not the most swimmable of waterfronts, it was beautiful to kayak on [provided] and the view was spectacular. set up and tear down was well explained and while a tight fit, all were comfortable. not close to syracuse but the drive was beautiful, and only aboue 45 min as was the drive to the outlets of waterloo, if you are going for the shopping i'd go back :)

The home was very comfortable, and the kitchen and appliances were clean. The living space and room were accomodating enough. But the best part was the deck off the back. We spend so much time out there morning, noon, and night. There were plenty of tables and chairs. The swinging loveseat at the end of the pier between the boats was everyone's favorite. The home was close enough to town to run in for dinner, shop, or pick up a few things. The beach area was "just aroung the corner" at the park. We want to come back. We want to come back.
