Historic Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach are located just up the street where the arts flourish and the night life has some pizzazz. There are local museums showcasing the history of the coast. Figure 8 Island is a beautiful coastal community, but visitors from Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York are excited to find out that it can be reached in the same amount of travel time as the popular Outer Banks region and Figure 8 doesn't have the inseason crowds. The climate is considerably warmer in the spring, fall, and winter, providing a better environment for year-round golf, tennis, and other popular outdoor activities with fewer crowds!

The Tree House is located on a high sound front bluff just across from the beach path to the ocean. This home has 360 degree views of the white sandy beaches, ocean, sound and beyond. There is a boat dock on the sound which is great for kayaking, canoeing, crabbing, and fishing. The home is surrounded by the natural vegetation of the island which makes it fabulous for bird watching. The beaches are great for surfing and surf fishing; visitors will appreciate the shear bliss of quiet crowdless beaches. The beach house is cozy yet roomy with many updates. One of the best views on the Island, the home is very comfortable and casual. Nestled among live oaks and natural vegetation this home promotes exceptional birdwatching year round, yet still a delightful beach vacation. After a relaxing day on the beach you will enjoy perfect sunsets at the end of the day. All water toys are available for rent.

Figure Eight Island is a private island untouched by modern commercialization with a draw bridge and guard gate. The island is located on a lovely protected lagoon with white sandy beaches perfect for surfing, boating, swimming, fishing, biking, deep sea fishing, surf fishing, wind surfing, tennis, snorkeling, scuba diving, parasailing dinner at fine restaurants, night life, and much more! Golf courses designed by Tom Fazio at Porters Neck Plantation located 5 minutes away. Other activities available include antique shopping, arts, festivals, night life, Airlie Gardens, Orton Plantation, rail road museum, children's museum, Wilmington museum, Fort Fisher Aquarium, and the NC Battleship. There are tours of historic downtown. Historic Wilmington has many attractions and is a 20 minute drive from Figure 8 Island. The island offers bike, surfboard and kayak rentals.
