Description of the Florence vacation apartment rental
Our apartment is situated on the 3rd floor in a small building on a silent and narrow street between the river Arno and Tornabuoni street, a few steps from Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery, very close to all shops, banks and pharmacies. It has been recently restored by us ourselves according to the rustic Tuscan taste. It's perfect for 2 people but suitable for 3/4. The apartment is composed by a nice bedroom (queen size), a romantic intermediate floor with a multicolour roof window, a large corridor, an original Tuscan kitchen fully equipped, and a bathroom (with shower).
Area Description
The cultural and historical impact of Florence (or Firenze) is overwhelming. Close up, however, the city is one of Italy's most atmospheric and pleasant, retaining a strong resemblance to the small late-medieval centre that contributed so much to the cultural and political development of Europe.
Its striking buildings, formidable galleries and treasure-crammed churches attest to the Florentine love of display. Even long after it had set on the political and economic horizon, Florence upheld its elegant appearance: its skyline, all russet rooftops and lofty domes, is indeed picturesque

Enjoyable stay in Firenze, December 31, 2008

The apt was nice and warm in December and had the classic charm of Florence. It was conveniently located so we could walk to all sites and museums. Taking day trips to Pisa and Siena were easy via train and bus since the central stations were also within walking distance from the apt. Elena greeted us when we arrived and provided all the information needed for our stay. She was available by phone for any questions and help. The apt is 3 flights up stairs so having large suitcases (like we did) was a lot of work...but you only need to do it once.

We enjoyed a terrific stay at Elena's apartment. Elena met us on the street, explained how everything worked and gave us her phone number to call should we have problems. There were a lot of helpful pamphlets (like a bus schedule to Siena), maps and books in the apartment. The location was very convenient to the train station, the main bus depot, the sights, and a great take-out restaurant. Elena gave us directions to a little supermarket just across the bridge a few blocks. The location was one of the highlights of the apartment. There was a very popular restaurant on the same block that had a 7:30 and a 9:30 seating. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was very complete. We cooked several complete dinners and breakfasts in the kitchen. The fridge was large and their was a toaster. There were 4 gas burners on the stove, a full oven, and lots of plates, bowls, and utensils. There was a nice little nook on a second level with a window, tv, and air conditioner. The apartment was a good size. It was nice to return to in the evening although there were quite a few stairs to get to it from the street. All in all we were very pleased with our delightful stay in the apartment."

"Everything was perfect. The flat's location cannot be better than it is in order to visit all the wonderful monument. I would like to highlight that the owner is a very pleasant woman as most of the italian. Thank you very much for these nice holidays. Florence is also beautiful with some snows on the roof..."
"We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay in early July. Elena is very friendly and provided her mobile number in case we needed to call her for any reason. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Our daughters were well pleased to have their own space up in the loft. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. Very good water pressure in the shower, although the temperature was a bit tough to control. The newly installed air conditioning was greatly appreciated! The apartment was also ideally located on a small street with just a bit of noise during the evening. We were easily able to pop back to the apartment during the day for meals or just for a rest. We did not mind the stairs at all (except on the first day while hauling our luggage up!) Elena's recommendations for gelato and food were fantastic. We ended many of our days with a cheap take away meal from La Spada and a stroll across the nearby bridge to La Carraia Gelateria. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Florence."

Lots of good restaurants nearby, so no need to venture far after a hard day's sightseeing! Elena is the perfect host, she speaks good English and was always friendly and helpful in her dealings with us."
