Description of the Fort Bragg vacation home rental

Less than 20 minutes to the town of Fort Bragg and 15 more to the Village of Mendocino. The last mile of your journey is on a well maintained dirt road. An old homestead with a renovated house on 7acres. One fully landscaped acre and an apple orchard on the Noyo River. The famous Skunk train is just across the river, visible from the porch. The train will stop and pick up passengers. Grazing sheep in the century old orchard with free range chickens providing fresh egg. Wild life abounds including deer,wild turkeys,seasonal steelhead and much more. This is truly a unique and lovely setting on a small river flat. Could be the ideal spot for a family reunion or a wedding. A full time caretaker lives next door.

Area Description

At each end of the property there are one acre parcels with seasonal residences. After that, the river flat ends and the redwoods begin. There are a couple of residences a mile up-river and one up hill from the site but otherwise you are in peaceful seclusion. Fort Bragg and Mendocino are right on the coast and are popular tourist destinations. There are many good resturants, one movie theater and several very good live music and local theater venues. The ocean provides breath taking views, excellent fishing and whale watching excursions. Divers travel from afar in search of the still plentiful abalone. While known for its outdoors activities, the wide selection of antique stores, boutiques, resturants, botanical gardens and many state parks will keep busy and entertained.
