Largest Vacation Home in South Florida (#24805)

The house was wonderful, the service was excellent, and we couldn't have asked for more! Would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat. We took a family vacation and stayed in this home. It is a wonderfully appointed home. Everything you could need was provided. The owner is very pleasant and very easy to work with. I would recommend this house for anyone. The house is spacious, nicely furnished & clean, but we did not think it was worth the premium price that was charged. The outdoor kitchen is despicable and unusable including the 3 grills that were filthy and the outdoor dining table that collapsed when we tried to use it. The master bath has a hand-held shower that just hangs since the mount for it is broken and a bad leak on the supply line. The ceiling fan in the master bedroom has a blade missing, therefore, you can not use it. The stereo system is broken and appears to have been broken for quiet some time. Scattered all around are mysterious holes & cracks in the tile floors, some of them greater than 1” in diameter & depth. The water in jazzuci never got to the normal range for hot tubs. We were appreciative of the willingness of the manager to give us extra free nights when we brought up our disappointment, however, we did not think this house was worth the extra effort of trying to schedule new vacations for seven people. Our week long stay was quite enjoyable. The home was very clean and well stocked with items needed for a comfortable stay. A plus is it is only eight miles from the airport. We were 2 families (8 people) visiting Florida and stayed 2 weeks in this house. Had room for all and plenty of room to host our guests. The house had lots of room and with three baths there was never much waiting. The kids loved the pool and jacuzzi. Some days we were content just hanging around the house since it had all we needed to be comfortable and the neighborhood was safe and quiet. We were impressed with all the assistance from Eric and Joey. If we visit Ft. Lauderdale again we will definitely look into this house again. We left a memento from Sweden in the house for the next guests to enjoy...an old viking lawn game called "Kubb". We can definitely recommend this house to a large family or party of more than 4 persons (but is also excellent for fewer!) We give 5 stars as a rating...easily! This home was very spacious and accomodating. There were 10 women in this house, and there was so much room, until we never bumped into one another. If space is what you need, this is the vaction home for you. It was very clean and neat. We will be staying in this property again in the near future. The renters are also nice and friendly, and right there when you need them. We booked this property about five months out, paid the deposit, signed the contract. Exactly 30 days before we were due to arrive, they contacted us and said "Sorry, we overbooked." We were left scrambling to find alternate arrangements. They did offer us another property which was not as nice and totally unsuitable. They did not even offer a discount for our troubles. I would recommend that no one do business with a company as disorganized as to overbook or as unethical as to use a "bait and switch" tactic.They did refund our deposit promptly. We were one of the couples staying with Tamara (other review), and the ease of booking, payment, and follow through was great. Eric was very helpful to provide local information. But one of the big bonuses was the fact there was a computer with internet in the house (with a printer) available 24/7, as well, the ability to call long distance free of charge to locations in North America was a huge asset. Clean, spacious, and well cared for, a very nice place to stay, and VERY quiet area, always felt secure. Would not hesitate to book through this company again. My husband and I and another couple booked this property almost five months in advance, paid the deposit, signed the contract. Exactly thirty days before we were due to arrive, we received an email stating "Sorry, we overbooked". We were offered a second property, nowhere near as nice, and totally unsuitable for our needs. They didn't even offer a discount.We opted for a refund, but were left scrambling to find another property during a peak travel time. The whole experience was awful. I would warn against doing business with a company so incompetent as to overbook or so unethical as to try a "bait and switch" tactic. My husband and I and three other couples rented this home for three days before our departure on a cruise. We had such a wonderful time, lots of space, very peaceful,and very clean. The company that is responsible for the home was very accomadating and very friendly. Eric was very friendly and knowledgable. We will certainly call again when we want to return to Florida, and will recommend to our friends. Thanks so much. Tamara Unfortunately, the owner of this property is a fraud. We had reservations for this home during the 2007 holidays: we had a contract and had made the down payment in May 2007. The owner, Eric Hammonds, told us two days before our arrival in Florida that he had given the home to another family, while my family and I were flying in from different European countries. The owner, Eric Hammonds has not even given us back our down payment of $600 and does not respond to our phone calls or e-mails. He is a fraud, a scam artist. Don't book this home; don't let him ruin your vacation! I paid it 2½ months in advance. Owner told about douple booking just week before departure. Promised to refund money but I am still waiting for refund. Do not believe nice promises fr this owner. This home worked out perfectly during our family gathering for a son's wedding. The home, which is roomy and comfortably furnished, feels just like "home." The home's yard and pool areas are just beautiful with the lush green plants and colorful flowers. The grandkids loved the pool and computer and the "big kids" loved the big-screen TV in the living room. The master suite is luxurious and the other bedrooms very comfortable. This was a great find...and at a great price! We expecially appreciated the supplied beach towels and the good supply of dishes and silverware. We hosted Thanksgiving dinner while there and had plenty of forks for all! Everyone asked me how I had found such a perfect home to rent. Eric and his assistants were very friendly to deal with on the arrangments and very accommodating. They set up futons for the kids and even left a light on for us. We hated to leave after our week's stay and the grandkids asked when we could come back to the house again!
