Relaxing Escape

I spent a week in this house to refresh and recharge after a particularly busy year. It was nice and quiet, being far enough away, yet just close enough to civilization. The house is clean and comfortable, open and airy. The kitchen is well stocked, there are lots of books, and lots of comfy places to escape to. I made several trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia where I did a lot of hiking. Jerry is a wonderful host and I want to thank him for offering his house as a home away from home. I'm also grateful that I was able to bring my dog with me, I think she enjoyed the trip as much as I did. I certainly hope to come back next year, hopefully for two weeks though. I highly recommend this house.

It's How You Picture Maine in Your Mind

We stayed the 4th of July week and have been talking about it ever since! The house is comfortable, clean, sooo quiet, and easily accessible to all local attractions...we went for the lighthouses and they were gorgeous! Everything is in the house that you need (but Jerry, you should invest in a huge lobster pot lol), just bring food, maps and your camera for the incredible views around every corner of the area. We didn't see a moose this trip but we will be back to look again! Thank you for a wonderful "home" away from home xo Joe and Ellen

Quiet and Peaceful

Nice place to stay in Maine, very quiet and peaceful, only a short ride to Bar Harbor, Acadia, and other points of interest along the coast, the chalet is comfortable, and equiped with a full kitchen if you want to eat in, there are two nice decks to relax on, with one having a nice size grill. Also offers tv, and internet. If your going to this area of Maine and looking for a reasonably priced place to stay, this could be what your looking for. We would stay there again.

Excellent stay in Franklin

Perfect getaway for those visiting the Acadia National Park area. Uniquely situated just outside the hustle and bustle of the Ellsworth/Trenton/Bar Harbor area, we really enjoyed living quietly in the woods away from all the traffic. The property owner was very accommodating and this chalet was fully equipped with extras: satellite TV, internet, fire pit, and gas BBQ grill. I would seek the opportunity to rent this property for all of my future stays.

Wonderful, Rustic and Peaceful

We are a family with four kids ranging in ages 22-15. Our host was wonderful and went out of his way to make extra places to sleep. He even provided a bike for us because we couldn't bring enough. We had such a wonderful time, the property is beautiful and we had lovely fires for roasting marshmallows. The kitchen was very well equipped which was very important with that many people to feed. We went walking, hiking, biking. We liked the location because it was quiet, beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It was a very well laid out house with lots of character. Overall a very postive experience.
