Description of the Franklin vacation cabin rental

This is a Beautiful log cabin nestled on the bank of the Little Tennessee River with BIG RIVER FUN for all. You can fish or swim from your back yard. Canoe or raft down the river and refresh your soul. The views from the cabin are beautiful and peaceful. The porch has a swing and rockers and loaded with view. This cabin has a queen bedroom, full futon and a loft with double bed (great for children) Cabin is complete with linens,full stocked kitchen and towels,Sat.t.v. WIFI, washer dryer area, charcoal grills,picnic tables, firepit for roasting smores or nighttime star gazing. There is a game room on the grounds equipped with a pool table,many dvds and board games to enjoy.

The River Gem is the place to be to enjoy the mountains.Whatever your reason for your visit may be, it will not be too far or too hard to get too from The River Gem. GEM mining is very popular in Franklin and within 5 minutes you can be at any of the 5 major gem mines in the area where you can dig your own dirt or buy a bucket already dug. I can assure you that you will come away with a load of sparkling stones!! Great news is that the managers live in the area and are always available to help with any questions or give you updates on whats happening in the area.Great for any occassion.

Area Information

Oak Grove cabins are located 9 miles North of Franklin. The Little tennessee river has been called the cleanest river in western North Carolina.The cabins are on flat land that is easily accessible. River and Mountain views from your back porch. Actually, everywhere you go on the grounds is a beautiful river view.There are so many wonderful sites to see in the Smokies and they are all within easy driving range to the cabin.5 major gem mines within 5 minutes from cabin. Cherokee and the Casino are 40 minutes away. Visit the beautiful breathtaking waterfalls on the road to Highlands, which is 30 minutes away or enjoy a day trip to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. If you like antiqueing, Franklin antique malls are loaded with treasures from the past.Local farms are full of sweet natural treats. Local musicians get together in town every Saturday night for a Pickins on the Square. Its a place that will draw you back again and again.

relaxing stay

Stayed at the Peaceful Treasure # 4. Right on the river and very relaxing. The cabin is cute with a great porch with swing and excellent view. Brenda is very accommodating and goes out of her way to make sure you have a great time. The leaves were turning and it was just awesome! Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

Adorable little cabin by the river

Very clean and comfortable. The huge yard was well kept and led right down to the river with easy river access. Felt like we were camping but had all the amenities of home and none of the work. The smell of the campfire, the sound of the water, the open night sky were all perfect. I even saw 4 shooting stars. Good location if visiting Franklin or Bryson City. Plan to visit again and stay in this cabin again for sure.

Just what the family needed.

Our main reason for going to Franklin was to go gem mining. But, our trip was so much more. Oak Grove Cabins was the perfect place for us. There was plenty of room for everyone, the amenities we're used to at home were all there. The house was clean and well equipped. My sons had a great time in the game room, playing outstide, and at the river. It was accessible to area attractions like the beautiful Dry Falls, whitewater rafting, and Cherokee. One of the best things was watching the fireflies lighting up the river bank. I hope we can go back again someday.

WONDERFULLY PEACEFUL!!

My family of four recently stayed in the River Gem #5 cabin and absolutely loved it! The coziness of the cabin was wonderful and it was so clean, with everything we needed! Belinda is the best and is willing to help with anything you may need! It sits right there at the river and is a great spot for river fishing or a campfire! My children loved the loft and we even found ourselves up there with them watching a late night movie together! There is much to do in the Franklin, Highlands, Cashiers area so make sure you go see it all! We will definately be returning soon!

My wife and i have been to oak grove cabins twice this and and plan on going back at least once more,hoping for two more times.Great place on the rive and the cabins are spotless and the owner Belinda is super.

We recently stayed at the River Gem cabin. Nice location. The cabin was clean and very comfortable and met all our needs. It was very reasonably priced too. The Little Tennessee River is just a short distance from the cabin. Great for fishing, canoeing or tubing Gem mining is close and there are several things to do withing a 30 -45 minute drive. Seeing the Dry Falls in Highland was just beautiful. We definitely enjoyed our stay and after a day of site seeing or mining it was a great place to come back to and relax and enjoy the scenery.

Great Cabin with Wonderful Location

I recently stated at this great cabin. The location was perfect with a great view of the river within an arms throw of the porch swing. My family of four enjoyed the coziness and cleanliness of the cabin. It had everything we needed yet so much more with the surrounding scenery. The pricing was very reasonable and the renters were a pleasure.

Good Location - With the River for fishing, Bedroom and Loft, it had all the amenities we ask for. Franklin was 25 minutes east to Cashiers and Highland where we viewed the Dry Falls and Veil Falls on our way. In addition, drove 20 minutes north to Bryson City to take a train to see the leaves changing. We had privacy and will be back. Thank you to our hosts. And see you next year. Jane and Charlie
